Did Vince Choke in the Playoffs?

Postby Fewrookies-From2kW/Love on Mon Apr 24, 2006 9:55 am

31points, 13rebs, and 6asst.......but attempted 33 shots and 8 treys......but no turnovers and heat up in final minutes

Does the good out weight the bad, or Vince cause 'em the game?

In my opinion, he did. (N)

Look at Kidd's shoting percentage before you blast vince for taking too many shots.

Vince shoots it when he is outnumbered, outsized, anything. Smarter decisions are needed. His career is too much of a focus on highlight reels.

I wouldn't say he choked, he just settled too much for that outside jumper. They were saying during the broadcast that for his giftedness, he doesn't attack the hoop nearly enough, while using examples like Kobe and T-Mac who attack the rim all the time. It just so happened that today the shots wouldn't drop, and instead of attacking the basket, he just kept jacking them up in hope he'd get his shooting touch back. Also notice, almost everytime he did attack the basket (not counting the first quarter), he either scored or got fouled. He didn't choke, he just made some poor decisions.

It's one game. How are you going to say he choked in the entire playoffs.

Well he was prolly a bit intimated to go in everytime, first off you have one of the best shotblaockers in the L in Jermaine Oneal down there then did u see that fall he had on that and one? Where he flew in for the layup and he was gonna come down on anthony johnson and he bashed his tail bone, that prolly made him want to try those outside shots.

It was kinda dumb to give richard jefferson, a streaky outside shooter to begin with the chance to win it with a tough shot like he took (Fade away corner three at the buzzer). I liked what kerr said get it to Kristic and let him get a foul.

Kerr's an idiot. You have vince, Jefferson, and even a struggling Kidd, and he wants to goto Kristic?

Yes, Franks an idiot. He went to VC all game, now why all of a sudden go to RJ?

ummm, 22pts on 9-15 shooting and he went 5-7 from the line? Jermaine Oneal has 5 fouls and kristic has been alking all over the Pacers in the 2nd half, you go with whose hott, it should have been kristic or carter.

Vince was shooting horribly to start, if I remember correctly he was 6-21 at one stage at half time or something.

As Kerr says in Live 06, "Carter likes to fall in love with that outside shot" and some of the same "needs to drive to the basket" crap.

I don't think the Nets will pull this series out. The Pacers have always had the talent to be a conference finals team, they've just been injured and only now seem to put it all together again. When he's not in foul trouble, the Nets don't have an answer for Jermaine O'Neal.

And the Pacers have an answer for Jefferson or Kidd? Stephen Jackson is a tough player as well, but he cant guard Vince either.. so the pacers dont have an answer for any of their big 3. This might go 7, and New Jesey is an explosive team.

He didn't choke..he just played like the old vince...ball-hog-shot-jacker-vince. This guy's play style is such a waste of talent. He should be just as good or better than kobe by now.
