ROOKIES WIN THRILLING GAME AGAINST SOPHOMORES
February 16, 2007
Las Vegas Arena
Tonight rookies proved that they are better that previous year's rookies, beating them 110 : 104.
Most Valuable Player of Rookie Challenge game has become Power Forward Newton Ballard from the Hornets.
He scored 24 points, had 9 rebounds and 3 assists, and was the main factor for the rookies' victory.
The game was great show for the spectaculars with thrilling ending and with nice dunks.
Rookies started this game a bit slowly, and sophomores increased the lead to about 10 points.
They were leading untill the 3rd quarter, when Ballard started to play mosterous game.
He scored 10 points in a row and closed the game by only 2 points at the end of 3rd quarter.
The last quarter was thrilling, as both teams wanted to increase he lead, but the biggest lead was only 5 points.
The last minute was more successful for the rookies and they celebrated the victory.
The high point man for the rookies was Mattias Tomsa from Blazers with 25 points.
Also need to mention Dan Rasmusson, Ira Clayton and Howie Blain with good game.
From the sophomores the best player was Deron Williams with 21 points and 5 assists.
Also Gerald Green had good game. Center Ha had 4 points and 5 rebounds as the starting center.
This result of the Rookie Challenge game shows that 2006 class of rookies were better than 2005 year's

3 POINTERS READY TO THE BATTLE

DIRK NOWITZKI
[ 3 PT RATING 81 | 3 POINT % .465 ]
MIKE JAMES
[ 3 PT RATING 79 | 3 POINT % .425 ]
RASHARD LEWIS
[ 3 PT RATING 84 | 3 POINT % .406 ]
JASON WILLIAMS
[ 3 PT RATING 75 | 3 POINT % .424 ]
EDDIE GRIFFIN
[ 3 PT RATING 72 | 3 POINT % .477 ]
PEJA STOJAKOVIC
[ 3 PT RATING 89 | 3 POINT % .409 ]
KIRK HINRICH
[ 3 PT RATING 81 | 3 POINT % .367 ]
JOE JOHNSON
[ 3 PT RATING 84 | 3 POINT % .316 ]
Tonight all the best 3 pointers from the NBA will face at the Las Vegas Arena. And the winner will be clear after 3 rounds.
Five 3 pointers will advance to the second round. Next, only two 3 pointer will advance to the final round, where the winner will be decided.
In this competition there will be very good shooters, but need to mention some surprises, for example, Eddie Griffin.
There will be 2 European players: Dirk and Peja, who I consider the real candidats to win the 3 point shoot competition.
Also there will be such shooters like Joe Johnson from Hawks, Rashard Lewis from Sonics, Kirk Hinrich from Bulls and others.
The leading shooter in shooting percentage in all this season games is surprisingly Eddie Griffin, at the last place Joe Johnson

JOE JOHNSON - THE SNIPER OF THE YEAR
February 17, 2007
Las Vegas Arena
1st ROUND

Dirk Nowitzki, Kirk Hinrich, Joe Johnson, Peja Stojakovic and Eddie Griffin proceeded to the next round.
4 players had 20 or more points, Mike James was the worst shooter tonight only with 7 points.
Other 3 shooters had almost similar amount of points, but Eddie Griffin had more of them and proceeded next.
All 5 players are heading to the next round. Eddie Griffin will shoot first.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd ROUND

Joe Johnson and Kirk Hinrich are going to the final round, as Johnson had 26 points and Hinrich 23 points.
Maverick Dirk Nowitzki was eliminated, when he scored only 19 points. The score that don't enough for the final round.
He outrunned only Peja Stojakovic, who had 16 points, and lost to Eddie Griffin, who had 20 points.
So Joe and Kirk are now ready for the final round. Interesting if both players repeat previous results.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FINAL ROUND

Joe Johnson is now the winner of the 3 point shootout of the 2007 year.
He had only 15 points in the final round, but Kirk Hinrich had even less - only 10 points.
Hinrich was shooting first, but had only 10 points, shooting very poorly.
So the winner was almost obvious, when Johnson had 7 points after 2 series.
He had 8 points more and became the winner of 2007 year's 3 point shootout.

WTF was Griffin forgot in the 3-PT shootout? Good win by JJ, u should trade him for Terry and a filler
Fri Apr 21, 2006 5:57 pm
Griffin got 3rd place here
Terry is not even in my team, how can i trade him?
Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:26 pm
Intresting and good how you present this one, and I like your rookies, well the "white man can´t jump" seems not to count for this Portland guy (I know it doesnt count anyway, but theres not a lot of white guys in the dunk contest

)
I hope J-Rich pulls off some nice moves to get the win, he the sickest !

ANANI HUGHES - SLAM DUNK CHAMPION
February 17, 2007
Las Vegas Arena
1st ROUND

Two rookies proved they are better dunkers than experienced dunkers.
Anani Hughes and Vince Carter had 50 points in the first attempts, Tomsa had 45, while Richardson 44.
At the second dunk Hughes had 46 points, and clinched the spot in the final round.
Now Tomsa had 50 points, while Carter 45. And there will be the tiebraker series, 95 points for both dunkers.
Richardson had 50 points with the last dunk, but he didn't proceed to the next round.
These two dunkers had 95 points, and after tiebraker series Tomsa won with 49 points against Carter's 41.
So we will see 2 rookies: Anani Hughes and Mattias Tomsa in the final. Who will win?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd ROUND

With the first dunk Mattias got 46 points, not bad, but Hughes can outrun him.
And Anani had 50 points, so he was at the first position after first dunks.
With the second dunk Mattias had 50 points, too. So he had 96 points total.
If he wish to win, he must pray that Anani could't get more than 46 points.
But Mavs' rookie ended with amazing dunk and got 50 points with the second dunk.
Hughes had 100 points after 2nd round, while Tomsa had only 96 points.
So Anani Hughes became the winner of 2007 year's Slam Dunk Contest.

Yeah the rookies are quite interesting, but their ratings are kinda stupid for some guys, such as Tomsa's 96 dunk rating. And yes, white men can't jump.
Richardson had pretty cool dunks but he was behind only by 1 point..

I traded him to Chandler and something else, check whole thread and you will find out..
Two rookies making finals of the dunk contest is quite realistic I think
Sat Apr 22, 2006 10:06 pm
Realistic Rosters for both teams, I like Deron Williams as a Soph in his first All-Star appereance and Tyshaun is cool, too.
Sun Apr 23, 2006 2:00 am
Yeah, rosters are quite realistic, except Miller starts for the WEST lol
