Wouldnt it be cool to see the 5,6,7, and 8 seeds beat the 1,2,3, and 4 seeds in the playoffs. It would shut up everyone out there saying if the Pistons get to the finals then they will face either the Spurs or Mavs or if the Spurs get to the finals then they will face either the Pistons or Heat. Its just stupid to say stuff like that because anything can happen like the no. 8 seed nuggets beating the 1 seed Sonics a few years back. Anything can happen. So do you guys think it would be cool and good for the NBA. Your thoughts.

The Clippers now have a good chance to beat the Nuggets, and the Kings may also advance if they can get the 7th seed.
I don't see any of those happening from the eastern conference.

As far as I'm a fan of redd, I have to say that Milwaukee beat Detroit because Billups and some other key guys did not play.

Billups did play. Rasheed and Rip Hamilton didn't and they played the scrubs (along with the Bucks scrubs) for the entire 4th quarter.

Sacramento could pull an upset on the Spurs.

would be great to see a team like Nuggets of '94 beat the Sonics of '94....unlikely, but possible....this would be the same as the Bulls or Bucks taking down the Pistons....although Nuggets' win was better....

Series where lower seed could upset higher seed:
6 Clippers vs 3 Denver (for obvious reasons)
7 LA Lakers vs 2 Phoenix (Kobe would need to go beserk for this to happen, but anything is possible)
5 Memphis vs 4 Dallas (I think Mavs will be fine, but they still need to prove doubters wrong)
8 Sacramento vs 1 San Antonio (the most likely of the series to not be an upset, but you never know with Ronnie, but Spurs should roll in this one)
5 Whoever vs 4 Cleveland (LBJ has no playoff experience, #5 could roll)
6 Whoever vs 3 New Jersey (whilst I don't think this will happen, anything is possible)....

even though they are possible, I see the 2nd rd looking like this:
1 Spurs vs 4 Mavs
2 Suns vs 3 Nuggets

1 Pistons vs 5 Whoever
2 Heat vs 3 Pistons

Would be fun at first, but then in the later rounds it would be really lame to see two crappy teams face off, especially if they're from the Eastern Conference with a losing record.

can't really see the upsets coming from the East (aside from Cavs)....if there are big upsets, they are coming from the West

The playoffs tend to usually filter out the crappy teams too.

Detroit started Dale Davis and Maurice Evans, and Delfino and Maxiell logged the most minutes. Alex Acker, Kelvin Cato, and Amir Johnson (the bottom 3 on the depth chart) played as many minutes as the 3 Detroit starters, including time in the second half.

Detroit is by no means falling apart, they are resting their stars and preparing the bench for the playoffs. They have no reason to "try" to win any more games - home court has already been clinched throughout the playoffs.

Realisitically, I only see the Clippers pulling an upset on the Nuggets. Laker's aren't going to beat the Suns, and the Spurs are going to beat the Kings. I don't know about the Mavs and the Grizz.

In the East, there's no way Milwaukee's beating Detriot. Miamim, New Jersey and Cleveland's gonna beat whoever they're playing in the first round.

In the West I'd think that the Clippers and whoever's playing the Suns are capable of pulling an upset. In the East, expect the top 4 seeds to advance and if you can ever consider it an upset after their season series the Nets might beat the Heat and then after that stretch the vs. Pistons series to 6 games or so before losing. The Mavericks also lose randomly to mediocre teams sometimes so maybe someone's got a chance to beat them.

I wouldnt be too worried about Detroit. They have that on/off switch. They should moonwalk through the east with maybe a little hicup in the east finals.
