And you reason?
Wed Apr 19, 2006 11:28 am
Why cant they keep both?
Wed Apr 19, 2006 11:29 am
Seriously, why they gotta go?
Bu if I had to choose, AI, too much money and getting old.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 11:33 am
I'd probably say both, nobody they put around AI works for him except for the one year they went to the finals.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 11:41 am
Webber: Declining, too much money.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 12:38 pm
Webber. Same reason as Ryan, plus no defense and takes too many wrong shots.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 12:50 pm
C-Webb, becuase if AI got dropped, the Knicks would probally pick him up
Wed Apr 19, 2006 12:54 pm
Where is the 'neither' option?
Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:08 pm
Get rid of AI...
Sure, there will be a long period of lottery years in Philly. But the way they're going now, the Sixers will be mediocre, either getting the 9th spot in the East or barely making the playoffs and getting knocked out in the first round. Thus, leaving them with a mid-first round pick. They'll get nowhere!
Hell, get rid of both for expirings if possible. Stink it up next year. Then guess who's available in the draft? Greg Oden baby (assuming he comes out). Draft him, and with all that extra cap room they can sign some free agents. Isn't the 2007 offseason the year when Lebron, Carmelo, and Bosh are restricted Free Agents? There's a realistic chance the Sixers could throw some crazy $$ at one of them. That would give them 3 solid players...assuming all goes as planned.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:18 pm
trade AI to NY for jalen rose expiring contract. Isiah would do it

He'll through in next year first round picks and the next 3 year's picks too.
robinson
iverson
marbury
francis
crawford
knicks elite lineup of "shoot first" point guards
Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:01 pm
If I have to keep one, it's clearly Iverson.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:42 pm
they have to keep iverson, he is the face of the team
Wed Apr 19, 2006 3:43 pm
i'd say keep Webb. After this year Webb has a player option for 06/07 and 07/08. Iverson's locked thru 08/09 no matter what. With Mashburn's and MacCulloch's contracts gone after next season, trading AI is better. Trade AI and get a good young PG and some picks or something. CWebbs not gonna be worth much traded anyway. Just wait out 2 more years and you've got a load of cap to spend. Iverson you have to wait another year for, and by that time he CAN'T be worth as much as now. As much as I love players staying in 1 uni for their careers, ditch AI. Obviously it'll depend on who he's traded for. I'd say ditch Dalembert, Korver, and Webb and get some peeps who don't suck, but nobody's gonna give equal for that garbage.

As opposed to Webber, who is really young and on a great contract himself
I would say 'where is the option for both?'
Wed Apr 19, 2006 4:55 pm
I think they CAN'T lose Iverson. He's one of the game's last big heroes. And the sixers owe him big. It would just be disrespectful.
Would the Lakers have traded Magic? Did the Spurs trade the Admiral? No, they didn't. Because those teams appreciated what these players did in the past. I also hated the fact that the Knicks traded Ewing. What was that about? I don't want AI to end up like Ewing.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 4:59 pm
agree, if sixers trade AI they might be cursed like the knicks are for trading Ewing.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 5:12 pm
I think they should just wait one more year, cause Webber's huge 20mil contract expires at the end of next season. The Sixers should just focus on having a good draft and good offseason. AI is the heart of the team, and Sixers can't win without AI. Webber on the other hand is just not worth that much money anymore.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 5:15 pm
Ditch Chris Webber, if anyone. He has a huge contract and isn't scoring 33 ppg.
Wed Apr 19, 2006 11:09 pm
I reckon don't drop any of them. Billy King is the one to go. I saw in a ESPN article that mocked GM's like him and Isiah "Screw Up" Thomas, that he gave big contracts to bad players that eventually some got traded or I think waived then overpaid Korver and Dalembert. The longer Billy King stays the better the chance that the Sixers will get like the Knicks atm.
They definitely need a better SF and need a overhaul of the bench.
If the Sixers were to receive an offer from the T'Wolves for KG then let A.I go and since K.G plays PF trade off C-Webb for a PG like Marbury.

That comment didn't make much sense.
I voted for Webber, but i thought i was voting for who should go.
Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:18 am
i really dont know......personally i dont want either to go...
However, if King tries to trade either, it will be very diffucult, due to the large salaries they both make...knicks have a lot of money, but they arent contenders...if AI and c-webb were to go, it would be to a contender needing one more piece...
Thu Apr 20, 2006 6:23 am
i think webber should go because hes gettin too old and hes not that good
and AI should be kept but more attention should be focused on iguodala

Yes, but the Knicks were good with Ewing.... they Sixers have sucked with Iverson, and I don't think it will get any better until they get some young talent.

Damn, same here. I thought I was voting for who should go so I voted AI.
Webber can always contribute in every category unlike AI where it's just points and a little bit of assists.
Thu Apr 20, 2006 7:07 am
Webber is a GIANT defensive liability and he can't work in the post anymore, plus his paycheck is huge. So if they can get rid only of one player, it should be Webber, but both should go. Their ballhoging is hurting Iguodala's and Dalembert's growth as players. I would try to trade CW to Knicks for a package in mold of Jalen Rose (his contract comes off the books next summer)+David Lee and Iverson for expiring contracts and a draft pick. Sixers cannot win with AI and he's already 30 years old. I say trade him while he still has some trade value left. Also, contracts like Hunter's should go and I would really give a though if Dalembert and his 'massive potential' are worth of all the millions they're paying for.
