this starts the Hornets eventual move to Oklahoma City...
LINK to the article
im glad theyre doing it, b/c OKC deserves a team for being such great fans this year for the Hornets
and o yea...the jerseys look nice too

They should have changed the colors man. IMO, It's really ugly.
New City= New Colors
Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:11 pm
They look too full now...
They should get new ones, let these stay in the past
Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:26 pm
Not new, they just changed what's written on the jersey.
The Hornets will spend one season in Oklahoma and then eventually come back to New Orleans the next season.
Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:42 pm
I personally like the tealish green colour, but it looks like they try tried to cram the "city" into the jersey which doesn't make it look too good.
The attendance in New Orleans was dying down anyway. I think its a good move for the organization.
Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:48 pm
They should've gone with just putting OKC above the numbers or something. It's too crammed.
Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:51 pm
i think it looks alright, but a whole new design would be cool
Sat Apr 15, 2006 12:53 pm
They should've removed the 'City' underneath.
Sat Apr 15, 2006 2:04 pm
I don't mind it, it's only for 1 game.
Sat Apr 15, 2006 2:40 pm
Looks like a college basketball jersey, like UNC or something.

It doesn't look anything remotely as good as UNC jerseys.

I think that the curve on the letters is messed up. If they straightened it out a little bit more, it would look more like UNC's jerseys and would possibly make it look less cluttered.

Word!
Maybe they should make it Oklahoma Hornets? They don't need the City part at all!

Oh Lord, please don't let the Hornets move to Oklahoma, this way Stern will find it a splendid idea to give the "deserving residents" of New Orleans a basketball team which will result in another expansion league which will lead to an even more watered down league.
Sun Apr 16, 2006 4:00 am
30 teams is more than enough, thank you very much. In fact, I wish there would be only 20 teams in the League. If Stern ever expands NBA to Europe, I'm gonna hunt that son of a bitch down.
Sun Apr 16, 2006 7:09 am
how would he do that? what's that, like a 12 hour plane trip? don't worry about that particular thing happening
Sun Apr 16, 2006 7:49 am
Since the Hornets have had good fans in Oklahoma, I say they permanently stay in Oklahoma, and move Seattle down to New Orleans.
This is why the Sonics would be that team.
Sun Apr 16, 2006 7:57 am
I wouldn't touch New Orleans with a 10 foot pole.
OKC ftw!

I actually like this jersey more than the one they used before during the season.

If the Hornets cant hold a team in NO right now, theres no point in moving Seattle down to NO.
Give them a few years maybe, and I could see that happening

i think they have the "City" on the bottom as a reference to the Oklahome State bball jerseys and a sign of the city as being loyal bball fans in general (be it college or pro)...
if they do make a permanent move to OKC tho, i think they need yet another redesign...

Who cares about the jerseys? What are they doing with JR Smith?
How about this trade:(I used ESPN's trade machine)
JR Smith to Phoenix
Leandro Barbosa, Dijon Thompson to NOK
Sun Apr 16, 2006 4:49 pm
^no thanks to that trade.
Sun Apr 16, 2006 4:50 pm
y not? JR has potential. We lose a SG and a nobody for a decent SG. They both end contract-wise after next season. I'd say success/risk looks pretty good.
