Why are we still talking about this guy? I'm sure he'll turn up again for the same reason Laron Profit, Calbert Cheaney and Mitchell Butler still do. Because people would rather go with a known mediocrity instead of an unknown.
It's unlikely Rush will ever be a good player in the NBA as he's gone three years without improving. He certainly won't be a sidekick to or the next Kobe Bryant. Despite being pegged as a "shooter" he only has shot 34% from three for his career. He doesn't rebound and can't handle the ball very well. He shoots poorly from two as well, and never gets to the line and when he actually does only shoots 70% from there. All that adds up to a shooting percentage quite a bit below 50%, which is terrible.
He only scores .888 points per possession for his career, and .868 this season. By comparison Kobe gets 1.031 for his career and 1.047 this season. Or a shooter like Michael Redd who's career rate is 1.069 and who this season is doing 1.081.
It's very clear why he was cut, they realized he sucks, and if he's got a bad attitude to boot it was a very very very easy cut to make.
