Ron Ron is a Retard Retard

From RealGM:

Artest Says Kings' Offense Needs To Run Through Him
3rd April, 2006 - 3:16 am
Chicago Tribune - Ron Artest says the Kings need to change their offense to run it through him. Said Artest: "I'm able to free people up, create those double and triple teams. And even if I take a bad shot, I look at myself (like) a Kobe (Bryant) or a Tim Duncan or a Michael Jordan taking a bad shot. You live with it."

1: He's shooting horrifically bad, including a blistering 12/49 in his last 3 games.
2: He's not even the best passer on his team over 6'7
3: Wtf?

Artest is a good all around player but seems like he has some problems handling his massive ego... and he isn't a shooter!! no way he is going to be a no.1 offensive threat to every team every night.

I don't consider myself an Artest hater and I do admire some of the things he's capable of doing on the basketball court, but he really is becoming the poster player for athletes who just don't have a clue and need to shut up and play. Confidence is one thing, being egotistical is another. Honestly, how does he expect to co-exist with anyone on any team in the league?

Dennis Rodman was a great defender with championship pedigree, but he wore out his welcome and it's cost him what could've been another two, three full years in the league. Isaiah Rider is a perfect example of the talented but troubled player whose career ended abruptly. Perhaps I'm jumping the gun here, but who's to say the same kind of thing couldn't happen to Artest if he doesn't get his head on straight and think before he speaks?

Why does this not surprise me....

After some smooth sailing with the Kings, a nice playoff run and all, he has to ruin it by saying this....

That would be great, he becomes a fighter, gets his ass kicked and then he makes some lame excuse as to what happened and then he will say he's just like Mohammed Ali.

Bloody Ron Ron if you were going good on offense and shooting well like last season before you got into the stands and gave the guy who didn't throw the cup at you a right hook I taught you then you could of blabbered off that comment.

Artest needs to go 1-on-1 with either Kobe, Jordan to get his head straight. He's mistaking that his basketball prowess on the defensive end is also present on the offensive end. What a nut job.

He's always had an ego problem. I remember when he was in chicago..and he was facing jordan was on the wiz..he was saying some shit about him taking the reigns on chicago now after jordan. Ofcourse back then he wasn't shit..he wasn't even a good defender..muchless now.

Artest is one of the worst players in the NBA. I couldn't believe how important physic is in the actual NBA until I saw him and Ben Wallace.

I have him in Fantasy NBA and cringe every time he dribbles up court and pulls up for 3 a la Kobe. he's not that bad of a shooter, he just has a horrible shot selection.

Look exactly at what he said, not the elaboration made by the writer: "I'm able to free people up, create those double and triple teams. And even if I take a bad shot, I look at myself (like) a Kobe (Bryant) or a Tim Duncan or a Michael Jordan taking a bad shot. You live with it."

He didn't say the offense should be run through him, he's just saying he does force teams to collapse on him because no one can guard him one on one (ok well 95% of the players in the league cant cover him alone).

Artest could say the sky is blue and people would call him a retard, moron and a nut job.

Gotta agree with Matthew here. Artest is talking about getting other people involved.. no where in the quote did he say the offense should be run through him. Personally I would rather have him running the offense... Bibby just jacks up 3pt shots everytime I watch the Kings.

:? Don't know which games you were watching, but I used to have WGN on the Island and Artest was a good defender even while he was with Chicago. I remember a Lakers game vs Chicago and really, Artest made Bryant hustle bad.

Artest wasn't that bad of a defender with Chicago, that I don't agree with. His strength alone was a problem.

What the hell are you talking about? Artest may be a dickhead, but he's not the worst player. And the comparing Ron and Ben is pretty retarded. :?

You do know that a physic is a drug/medicine, right?

So Ben Wallace & Ron Artest are the league's medicines? You said it buddy.

But he's playing terribly on offence, I could probably guard him. Since when is it a good idea to force feed the ball to a guy shooting 30%. Just because he gets the ball, sure as hell doesn't mean he's going to "create" for his teammates. It's not as if he's starved of possession as it is, the guy takes 20 shots per game.

And even if I take a bad shot, I look at myself (like) a Kobe (Bryant) or a Tim Duncan or a Michael Jordan taking a bad shot. You live with it."

You don't think that comment is a bit weird? He's shooting horribly on a good team with other scoring options, yet justifying it by comparing it to MJ and Duncan.

Artest could say the sky is blue and people would call him a retard, moron and a nut job.

And he could run into the stands and bash up a fan, and you'd still be here defending him :P

he didnt "bash up a fan", he ran after a guy who threw beer at him. and i defend people who i feel empathy for, whether thats kobe, Iverson, or Luc Longley lol.

He is shooting pretty bad, but the good thing he hasnt lost his confidence. you dont want a nick anderson who after missing 4 free throws went into a shell never to return again. And he's not asking for more possesions, he's just saying he can create for his teamates, which he can.
You don't think that comment is a bit weird? He's shooting horribly on a good team with other scoring options, yet justifying it by comparing it to MJ and Duncan.

Just becuase somthing is exagerated doesnt make him a moron. Ben Bailey can come and exagerate the importance of statistics all he wants, but does that make him a moron? Ok not a good example

But seriously, everyone knows he isnt on MJ's or Kobes level, but basketball is all about confidence. sure he may put himself up there on the very best of all times level undeservidly, but if that helps his game, i understand why he does it. can you fault him for trying to play the best he can?
