Bad year for retiring jerseys

Postby The_Flying_Tomato on Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:08 pm

Bulls lost on Pippen's retiring night
Jazz lost on Malone's retiring night
Pacers are losing on Miller's retiring night.

Sucks for the retirees. :P

Okay.
I slip away
I slipped on a little white lie
We've got heads on sticks, You've got ventriloquists
Standing in the shadows at the end of my bed

so is it a distraction for the home team when this happens? Or do they over-try to win and come up short?

Or maybe it's coincidence? Who knows... Personally, I think it's the Amish. They gotta be involved in some conspiracy.

Probably just a coincidence, but maybe it is a slight distraction or adds pressure of making the night special. In some cases it's probably just a matter of the opponent having a better stretch of play at that point of the season and being the superior team at the time.
