D-Wade more fun to watch w/o Shaq??

Fri Mar 31, 2006 11:26 am

Do any of you think that watching Wade play without Shaq is more fun? I was thinking that Wades style of play was getting boring. But without SHaq, I like his game more. I have no clue why but I was just curious if any of you guys feel the same way

well with shaq in the lineup, he doesn't really to create AS much due to shaq being the number 1 option on offense. (yes, i know wade scores more than shaq PPG wise, but shaq still gets fed the ball first the majority of the time, and rightfully so) without shaq, he gets to create more.. breaking down defenses and what not because all the attention is on him.

nah. i dont like seeing D wade play. i agree that his play is boring. he's doin the old same move everytime, not creative. tt's also y i don think he should win the mvp, since he's not fun to watch. give nash all ur vote ok? :D

Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:20 pm

eh! Wade gets to the NBA top 10 almost every week, but I guess ya'll right, he does get there doing the same moves all the time.

Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:29 pm

ya, btw, my comment means no offence to D wade and his fans, i'm jus saying out my point of views.

Firstly, MVP does not mean "most entertaining". It wouldn't surprise me if were the type of fan that would watch the NFL solely to see touchdown celebrations.

I would personally be concerned if D-Wade put creativity over effectiveness. Regardless, I still find his game entertaining... perhaps you missed his behind the back dribble on a drive to the basket in the final minutes against the Raptors where he made the score, and got fouled... watch that and try to defend your previous statement.

Fri Mar 31, 2006 12:48 pm

i'm not saying he cant do, but i mean he doesnt do as good. his moves are stiff. to a certain point, not flexible enough to make his moves nicer. and only once in a while he would come up with tt kind of moves tt entertain you. i jus find him boring. kobe is the best player with the best moves. though LAL is not a gd team right now, he's still entertaining to watch. however if anyone wants to say that kobe has been in the nba long enough to 'perfect' his skills, i would want to compare wade to LBJ. LBJ is more explosive. his build, his anger that shows on his face. tt contribute to entertaining too. as i type, may be tt's the thing lack in wade: being angry.

Aside from having extreme difficulty in deciphering your abbreviations, I found your explanations completely ludicrous.

This one especially:

his moves are stiff. to a certain point, not flexible enough to make his moves nicer

am i the one typing or you? you can always skip my comments. anyway, don try to start saying rubbish jus becos i say i don't like wade and you may be jus a fan of him. here we are talking about basketball, not about how i am writing.

Fri Mar 31, 2006 3:49 pm

I'm not DWade fan nor am I for him winning the MVP award but I still don't get why he shouldn't win the award because of the fact that he doesn't entertain you. As Axel said, it is not the Most Entertaning Player award afterall.

duncan is a 2 time MVP and he was never exciting. think about that samson

Fri Mar 31, 2006 4:55 pm

amphatoast, there are diff about duncan and wade. though both may not be entertaining, but duncan hav great basic skills. he post up, grap the ball, jump shot or back down into the paint. all this are the basic of a PF, and he did tt well. in fact, i think he perfected those skills.

then again, he not only scores, he rebounds. he can put up 20+pt while having 10+ rebound wif some assist and blocks too. wade can score and assist, but the number combine with his rebound and steals and blocks cant match up to duncan's.

anyway, duncan seems entertaining to me though. may not be exciting, but the way he shows his great basic skills. anyway tt was few years bad when he won the mvp, now he's recovering.

now you're basing your argument on their skills which is what the MVP award is all about thus proving our point and contradicting your initial one that being entertaining is the only basis for the MVP award

No, i'm only arguing about the comparision of wade and duncan. and i mean is duncan was entertaining to watch in his years of mvp. isn't it entertaining and attractive to see how great a PF can be wif his amazing basic skills.

still i think mvp should be someone who can entertaining.

but my meaning towards entertaining is not,er....fun, as in fun w/o skills. entertaining in terms of a mvp should be someone who can entertain not wif his attitude or behaviour, but is his skills. duncan can entertain wif his amazing basic skills. last year nash entertain us wif his great leadership and passing. wade, this year, does not hav much real outstanding skills to entertain other, compared to other candidates. he is much or less similar type of players as kobe, on the skills tone.

Dwayne wade, as much as I hate him, is great to watch with or without Shaq. Obviously since without shaq, he gets more of the ball he will be able to do more offensively, but watching shaq is just as good... so it sort of evens out.

its not that Wade is more fun to watch without shaq, its just that there is more of wade to watch without him...

I think that pretty much sums it all up.

Last year I loved watching Wade play, and I did this year until Shaq came back from injury and I couldnt get into him. With Shaq on the court the ball goes to him alot. I liked them togeather last year running the Give and Go alley oops and stuff. And its hard watching a player that cant hit 3s or isnt consistant on his jumper. Like I think McGrady (when hes not injured) is the most fun player to watch. Hes 6-8 and movies like hes 6-4. He'll dribble then just pullup. Or he'll get to the hoop really good.

Sat Apr 01, 2006 7:50 am

Without Shaq there wouldnt be Wade, because Shaq was a big influence on Wade when he firts came to the Heat. But i think when the play together the game is more enjoyable, atleast for me.

Sat Apr 01, 2006 8:00 am

Yea ok.....Wade played unbelievable in his rookie year. Without Wade, Shaq might not be so good. Wade penatrates and dishes to Shaq. Thats how he probally gets 6-8ppg.

Shaq did have a big influence on Wade, but Wade would still be a top 10 player.

wtf are you talking about? shaq averages almost 27 and 12 throughout his career, with only 2 seasons in Miami. One of those seasons, shaq is averaging career lows in boards and points! and your saying wade made shaq good?

Sat Apr 01, 2006 8:32 am

No but he couldve declined much more hes getting older. But yea thats true......but still I think Wade could be just as good with or without shaq

Sat Apr 01, 2006 8:42 am

i dont think shaq is better because of wade..thats quite silly. As said before, Shaq's career performance speaks for it's self.

Sat Apr 01, 2006 1:01 pm

Can someone tell me what 'tt' means? That samson guy kept saying it.

Anyways, I wouldn't know, for one. It's been too long since I saw him play without Shaq, or even with Shaq. I don't watch Heat games.

That's full of bull

Sat Apr 01, 2006 9:11 pm

If Wade doesnt have Shaq on his side, he has to carry the team more, which means he becomes more like a Bron, Kobe, Iverson type scorer, which can be at times more fun to watch than he is with Shaq.

Personally, I hate watching Shaqs fat arse so I would rather watch Wade w/o Shaq anyday.
