dunleavy too.

8 mil a year, but what does rip do? What do you think he should be paid? I'd say about 6.

scores 20+ppg on the best team (argueably)
comes off screens best in the NBA
moves without the ball the best in the NBA
shoots nearly 90% from the line
plays good defence

hamilton will be getting a contract most likely 10m+ by the time this current one is over...

jermaine and shaq arent bad contracts... theyre just big, they both warrant the big contracts
miller and battier arent that bad... millers could be a little high but he is great off the bench
korver is hardly anything, and he can put in for 15ppg a game
bobby simmons is just average, not great or bad
sheed is by no means overpaid
larry hughes has been injured, it would have been a good contract had he not gotten injured for the majority of the season

i think Shane Battier is worth his contract. He is not required to score, he's there for the leadership. If he wasn't a good player, he wouldn't be getting the minutes and starting spot that he's getting. If wanted, he can be a 15-20ppg guy easily.

Kyle Korver is only getting paid about 2 mil/ year, he's not doing much but with a shooting like him i think 2 mil/ year is well worth it.

Otherwise i think you have a pretty good list. It's intereing how most of them are big men. Is it really that hard to find a big talented players these days?

Korver:
this year: 3,630,363.
next yr: 4,011,551
07/08: 4,392,739
thru 10/11: 5,536,303

for him, I guess he's not the most overpaid, just overpaid. I should've added Quentin Richardson.

battier has almost 5 mil this year going thru almost 7.5 mil in 10/11. While agian, he's not the MOST overpaid, he's still overpaid.

how is it overpaid? sure, he cant play defence that well but he still draws charges and shoots extremely well.

i know if i was a gm i would pay that much to have a 13-15ppg scorer coming off the bench, especially because he has the ability to change the game if he is hot.

I don't know if I'd want Shaq's contract on my payroll. He's in a fairly steady decline, and $20 million over the next 5 years is alot. Unless he retires early, then I guess it's alright.

Don't you still have to pay a player after he retires?

53. How do retired players count against the cap?

Any money paid to a player is included in team salary, even if the player has retired. For example, James Worthy retired in 1994, two years before his contract ended. He continued to receive his salary for the 1994-95 and 1995-96 seasons, so his salary was included in the Lakers' team salary in those seasons. It is at the team's discretion (or as the result of an agreement between the team and player) whether to continue to pay the player after he has retired.

There is one exception whereby a player can continue to receive his salary, but the salary is not included in the team's team salary. This is when a player is forced to retire for medical reasons and a league-appointed physician confirms that he is medically unfit to continue playing.

Yup, it sure does  Tho it's a little strange that Shaq (or anyone else for that matter) can just quit any time he likes and still get paid tens millions for years to come..

the thing with shaqs contract is that he is just so dam good that he warrants it.
they are a huge chance for the finals this year, and all because they have shaq.

They'd be in the play-offs with or without him, and a finals contender depending on how Wade plays.

Good darko, I sure hope not. He makes $10.5 million in 2009 and $11.4 million in 2010. If the Pistons resign a 31 year old Rip to $10+ million a year in 2010 they're insane.

The Bucks also had one of the best records in the league at the start of the season, things change over time.
