Sun Ming Ming

so I was shocked to see this in the local paper
Image
"Ventura College's Sun Ming-Ming rebounds the ball while Iowa's Badara Ndiaye tries to block him during the game."

so Sun Ming Ming is playing at a local community college. I don't know how fair it is to have a guy of that size against players that aren't that good.

edit: I don't think this is recent. It's dated to around the beginning of the year (around January)

when did he have surgery?

well i discovered that sun ming ming was determined not eligible, and that pic was from his first and only game as ventura.

ah that makes sense. i did look at Ventura's athletic site and noticed he wasn't on the roster, but in the team photo. What I find interesting is that an ABA team is starting up in Ventura next year... it would be a good place to start for him.

well problem is he's too slow. and there is already a chinese team in the aba, beijing aoshen. however aba teams come and go, i wouldnt depend on an aba team.

for his best interest, it would be to go back to china. his footspeed, meh, as much as i want him to succed here, he just might not. he's still going to school in ventura college and practicing with them.

I watched a video of him one time. He is way, way, way, way too slow. Plus he can barely jump. He has Yao Ming's physical problems, but magnified, and he has less skill than Yao. He's just not going to make it, even in the ABA.
