Ten Worst Contracts of the Last Three Years.

Wed Mar 22, 2006 4:31 pm

If we only include contracts from the 2003, 2004 and 2005 off-seasons. What are the ten worst contracts that were handed out?

I propose we make a master list, then try to pare it down and start ranking the contracts.

I'll start with some I can think of off the top of my head:
Kenyon Martin: $91 million over seven years.
Erick Dampier: $73 million over seven years.
Adonal Foyle: $51.2 million over six years.
Derek Fisher: $36.6 million over six years.
Mike Dunleavy: $45 million over five years.

Some large contracts to consider...
Lamar Odom: $71.7 million over six
Kobe Bryant: $136.4 million over seven
Jason Kidd: $103.6 million over six
Stephon Marbury: $76 million over four
Ray Allen: $80 million over five
Zach Randolph: $84 million over six
Michael Redd: $90.1 million over six

Why do GMs overpay players even though it's 100% that no one will pay 25% of that price to them.

Allan Houston!!

Also Keith Van Horn... but i dont know the figures on it (where can I look to find them?)

Almost everybody is overpaid in the NBA. This list can go on and on and on and on......

that's true but a lot of the players on the list are overpaid on top of being overpaid

whatever Jannero Pargo is making is too much

Last three years.

Only took twelve posts before someone didn't follow the three years qualifier. I think that beat Jae's spread...

At this point, I must regrettably nominate Tyson Chandler's $63.6 million (or thereabouts), six year deal. Not that it's destroyed the Bulls' chances of adding new players because they've still got options and will gain cap room thanks to Thomas/E-Robbery but I just don't feel right about a player getting a $10 million plus a year and producing less statistically than he did the season before.

Even as a Celtics fan, when he was on the Celtics, I couldn't believe my eyes.

Did you know what in all of the centers to ever play Basketball, Mark Blount is the 3rd worst rebounder...ever.
