All Time Fantasy Team

Postby Jackal on Wed Jun 18, 2003 5:41 am

If you could have your fantasy team...with any superstar of now and/or the past...who would you pick at each position? These are the players I would pick.

C: Shaquille O'Neal ( Chamberlain came to mind but...with all the new rules etc... I doubt he would be as dominant as he was. )
PF: Tim Duncan ( Great All Around player.)
SF: Julius Erving ( Score at will )
SG: Michael Jordan ( Who else? )
PG: Oscar Robertson ( What numbers on this guy: 25.7 ppg , 7.5 rpg , 9.5 apg...in his second year he AVEREGED a triple double  )

Now you guys.

He did, but Bird could play both forward spots.

Here's my list. I'm playing some guys out of their natural position.

C: Wilt Chamberlain/Hakeem Olajuwon/Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
PF: Bill Russell/Karl Malone/Charles Barkley
SF: Larry Bird/Scottie Pippen
SG: Michael Jordan/Julius Erving
PG: Magic Johnson/John Stockton

With Yinka on your team, you can count on some serious passing rotation :P

Craig Hodges
BJ Armstrong

or...

Hakeem the Dream
Karl Malone
Scottie Pippen
Michael Jordan
Magic Johnson

C - Wilt Chamberlain/Bill Russel/Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Honorable mention Hakeem Olajuwon and Moses Malone)
PF - Karl Malone/Elgin Baylor (Baylor gets the nod over Charles Barkley, Kevin McHale and Elvin Hayes)
SF - Larry Bird/Julius Erving(No one can deny Scottie Pippen was a great all-around player and excellent defender, but he simply was not on the level of these 2 guys)
SG - Michael Jordan/Oscar Robertson/Jerry West(Do any other choices really come to mind?)
PG - Magic Johnson/John Stockton(Bob Cousy could make a case, but you gotta go with these 2)

Grant Hill over Julius Erving? Wowie

yeah Hill over Erving. Whats so wowie about that?

Whats wowie is that Hill averaged 21.4 ppg 9.0 rpg 1.8 spg 7.3 apg
WOW! what did Erving do? I can't find anything on him except how he could do some crazy dunks.

Your right mate, my bad, its YOUR team  .

In Julius' defense :Elected to Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame (1993); NBA champion (1983); NBA MVP (1981); All-NBA First Team (1978, '80, '81, '82, '83); All-NBA Second Team (1977, '84); 11-time All-Star (1977-87); All-Star MVP (1977, '83); J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award (1983); One of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History (1996).
That's only the nba not even counting the ABA....Ofocurse the numbers are down, but many more accomplishments  Anyways...back to the topic.

see I don't know what Julius did except dunk, so I mean why put him in?
but yeah i see all the awards, but the cast he had with him, and he also had more time than hill did. I was only thinking of Hill back in the mid 90s.

But i understand how u put Erving over hill, but I've never heard anything but dunks about Dr. J so...u know. not a fantasy choice for me. :D

Same with MJ i've only seen his later years, and so of course i'm a hater of MJ.
