Yeah pretty crappy FA period, i mean not much action, but Bobcats taking Miller is weird, now they will have him and Felton to share time, interesting

yep, it's not like my Bobcats' dynasty where I was always well under the cap, but we can thank Zach Randolph & previous management for that

Miller will also have to share time with Brevin Knight....3 PG's  Miller goes from a situation in Denver with 3 PG's to one in Charlotte with 3 PG's, he can't win

yep, I think Kandiman might go alright in Charlotte....they needed the help inside....as for Ariza, he's the Knicks' future....good on Isiah

trade period coming really soon....am just about to start doing update now

Sit wrote:Hey X... u planning any trades?

I always have my eye open for any opportunities that might pop up....am always looking to improve the team

yep, I'll have updated depth charts for each team after off-season is over

yep, plus I had dbf-ed salary changes & re-signings so guys like Prince, Dunleavy, Yao, Amare, etc were already re-signed

2006 OFF-SEASON COVERAGE

TRADING PERIOD

After adding a PF with their 1st Round pick, the Blazers are looking to add another PF & clearing some logjams that might be present.

Blazers Deny Bringing A Second X Into Town

Once the trading period started, there was some interest from around the league in Russian forward Viktor Khryapa, a versatile SF with good upside. Both the Boston Celtics were enamoured enough with Khryapa to make a preliminary offer.

The Celtics offered the Blazers their 1st Round draft pick, Xavier Hakidawandi from Nevada, straight up for Khryapa. The Celtics knew that the Blazers liked Hakidawandi, but the Blazers only liked him in the early 2nd Round, not as a lottery pick with a guaranteed rookie contract. After reviewing their trade offer, the Blazers gracefully declined it.

Blazers Get Tougher With Trade

With the Celtics' offer declined, the Blazers already had another offer on the table from the Knicks, 2nd year forward David Lee straight up for Viktor Khryapa. The Blazers' GM has liked the hustling David Lee for a long time & could not pass this opportunity up as he accepted the Knicks' offer.

Whilst it's sad to see Khryapa leaving, the Blazers already had a plethora of SF's & he probably would have had the chance to develop had he stayed in Portland. Whereas David Lee is a PF first, but can play both forward positions due to his athleticism. He still needs to work on his mid-range jumper, but his athleticism & work on the offensive glass is something to marvel. The Blazers were glad to acquire a player who doesn't need the ball in his hands to have an impact.

Blazers Can't Get West

With Lee in the fold, the Blazers' GM looked at acquiring another quality guard, trying to give Sergia Monia & Steve Blake to the Celtics for Delonte West. However, salaries didn't match up & there was no way a deal would go through without more major pieces being involved, which neither team wanted to do.

Check out below for full transactions for the month of August & September

Disgruntled rookie guard Keenan Pack forced the Sonics' hand as they dealt him to Memphis for Damon Stoudamire. Jerry West's draft day didn't look that good, but this deal was a steal.

After the off-season the roster looks like this:

Off-season coverage isn't completely finished. I still have to hire a new trainer & have some Training Camp matters to attend to, but the bulk is done. :P

cheers for all the support this off-season....

 I will when you tie the knot with Gerald Green :cheeky:

the funny thing about the deal is that the Knicks contacted me about him :P

also, just made an edit on my last post, I also pursued Delonte West, who would've made a great 6th man, but failed

still can't believe the Sonics wasted their No. 3 pick on Pack & then dealt him for Stoudamire

2006 OFF-SEASON COVERAGE

STAFF UPDATE

The trainer, Cedric Winter's 1 year contract came to an end 30 June, 2006.

With minimal money available to get a top flight trainer, the Blazers decided to re-sign Winter's for another season. He accepted.

^^ I never see many big trades in dynasty mode, Full stop. (I classify trading for a player in the lottery as big)

haha, yeah....had to tie in some sort of story to explain that outrageous drafting & trading of Keenan Pack

as for my trade, glad you like Lee, he's a new fan favourite

yep, like Stevie, Pack is a 2-guard in a 1-guard's body....

as for the 'rejected' instead of 'declined', much ado about nothing  although if it happens again, I will consider it

yep, more updates to come....will finish off the off-season once & for all :P

Mark. wrote:Nice i never get good trainers neway, waste of money IMO, i like injuries they make it more challenging

yep, I'm of the same school of thought

Malfa wrote:thats weird..ive never seen a lottery pick traded right after the draft

yep, it shocked me too....although it's good to see it happenning....I still can't believe I had 2 trade offers, unbelievable, but good

I think that Pack trade is going to destroy the Sonics....they moved up from like No. 10 to No. 3 & they picked a player they could have got at No. 10 then traded him for Stoudamire  at least my draft picks don't look so bad anymore  as for Grizzlies, they got a steal :P

Sit wrote:^^ I never see many big trades in dynasty mode, Full stop. (I classify trading for a player in the lottery as big)

glad I could provide it in my dynasty then
