INJURY ID

Postby mana on Fri Nov 22, 2002 9:52 pm

Have anyone tried anything with the INJURYID, RECOVERYDATE in the DBF? I tried to put Shaq, Odom, Miller, Carter and Dice back on with the injuried sign next to their names in the season. I have tried looking up the injury dbf and players and experienced with it. So far I am not able to produce any injuried players on the season roster. All I did was crashed the DBF file. =p

First of all, make sure you are using a DBF editor or the Toolkit rather than Excel. Excel usually causes errors.

If you set a player's ISPLAYABLE value to FALSE, then he will not be available to play. INJURYID corresponds to a number in injury.dbf and RECOVERYDATE refers to the date that the game will recognise them as being playable. If you are making a roster update, then don't bother changing anything with INJURYID or RECOVERYDATE - those fields are for the News section in Franchise Mode. Just change ISPLAYABLE to FALSE.

Thanks Andrew, now Dice and Shaq is not available at the beginning of the season. I am using DBCommander 2000 Pro to edit the dbf, is it possible to duplicate anexisting team and player? I have tired to transfer record from left to right and still don't get it, I am just stupid with DBCommander.

Strange...usually that does the trick. You might have to enter a value in the RECOVERYDATE after all...simulate a few games, see who's injured, then look them up in the DBF to find out what kind of value is displayed in the RECOVERYDATE field ie. see how date is represented. Then edit Shaq etc as desired.

There are a few strange things when I edit player in the dbf. Some player head band doesn't fit on their head if you edit them. The headbands will somewhat squeeze inside their heads. The injuryid and recoverdate will casue game to cause if i edit it. Weird..

I'll have to play around with the DBF once I get the game. My advice thus far has been based on previous versions of the game, so it's entirely possible there's something I'm missing.

After couple of tries, I got the hang of this injuryID in DBF. Now I got most of the injuried players on the IR list, ie: Miller, Dice, Bibby and Shaq.

To get injury to work on your roster:
INJURYID, INJURYDATE and RECOVERYDATE must be fill and ISPLAYABLE field shoud set as false.

NOTE: When I set the INJURYID from 220-228, the game crashed. However when I set the INJURYID to 10, the players appeared on the IR list and the game didn't crashed.

Hope it helps.
Right now I am back to figure out why the Headband is not fitting on players' head. :!:
