The Pacers open the season heading to Detroit to face the Pistons at the famed Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Pistons will be looking to start the new season on a good note after losing to the Spurs in last years Finals Series.
Look for a close fought match with the Pistons tipped as the favourites.

Rasheed Wallace and Tayshaun Prince started the season with a dominating performance over the Indiana Pacers.
The Duo combined for 38 points and 30 rebounds, dominating their matchups all game long.
Prince defended Stojakovic extremely well, getting in the way of all 6 of his 3 point attempts.
Jermaine O'Neal was held to only 12 points by the Wallaces, and Jeff Foster did nothing to fill the gap only taking 1 shot.
The scores were tied at the end of the 1st 19 all, with the Pistons struggling to find a rhythm.
With 8 minutes left in the 2nd Rip Hamilton scored on a fastbreak dunk which sparked a 10-2 Pistons run and put them up 31-24.
The Pistons never trailed from then, outscoring the Pacers by 22 points in the middle two quarters.
Rip struggled with his shot in this game, going 4-12 from the field
While the Pistons front court was amazing, the backcourt didnt fare as well shooting a combined 12-40 from the field and 3-14 from 3pt.
Chauncy Billups still managed to get 27 shots away, but was hitting bricks for most of the game.
Antonio McDyess once again was helpful off the bench, however this time without scoring, doing a little bit everything in limited minutes.
One of Dice's two misses..... quite embarassing
Ben Wallace had a great game shooting 75% from the field on 8 rim rattling dunks, he also added a below qouta 7 rebounds.
The Pacers main 4 shared the scoring with Tinsley perhaps having the best overall game with 16 points 7 assists and 4 steals.
Big Ben Posterizing Jeff Foster..... for the 5th time
Coach Flip Saunders was happy with the performance of the Pistons at the post game conference:
"I think we played well, our defence was dead on and our offence wasnt that bad either, Rip and Chuancy did struggle but Tay and Sheed picked up the slack.
I can see us doing big things this season."
Next game: @ Milawaukee

Lol yeah, with this one im spending a lot of time just sitting down thinking about how to do the presentation, the beauty of a 29 game season. Yeah it was a good start to the season, everything went well cept for my guards scoring, actually after 6 games im still having trouble scoring with Chauncy :SDaragon@4Q wrote:what a great start to the season

After a great win to start the season the Pistons head to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks who are lead
by scoring machine Michael Redd and Rookie Sensation Andrew Bogut.
The Bucks started the season with a poor showing against the 76ers going down 107-91.
Rookie Andrew Bogut impressed with 8 points 11 rebounds and 6 assists,
however it doesnt look like he will cause too much trouble for the battle hardend Pistons front court.

Andrew Bogut ended up supprising the Pistons, playing amazing defence on Rasheed Wallace,
holding him to only 6 points and more importantly only allowing him to take 6 shots.
Chauncy Billups managed to find his stroke again tonight, leading the Pistons in scoring and
knocking down the game winning 3 with 6 seconds left.
Rookie Bogut had a great night, especially on defense.
Detroit Looked to be in trouble after the first, down 18-14,
however they pulled out a big 25-13 2nd quarter to regain control of the game.
The Second half the Bucks used the homecocurt advantage hitting on many occasions that the Pistons could do nothing about,
however the Pistons stayed cool and made sure to never let the Bucks get on a decent run.
T.J. Ford's 3 with 15 second left tied the game up, but then it was all Chauncy
who used his bigger frame to push off the smaller Ford and elevate for the game winner.
The Piston's win can really be put down to the Defence of Ben Wallace and Rip Hamilton.
With Wallace dominating the paint and Hamilton playing some great man on man D on Michael Redd,
the Bucks never really had a bread and butter move that they could rely on.
Hamilton held Redd to 9 points on 4-18 shooting and forced him into a lot of silly fouls.
Hamilton himself once again struggled from the feild, but it was all made up for with his top shelf defence.
Big Ben once again controlled the flow of the game through his Defence
Antonio Mcdyess played a great game off the bench once again,
helping to make up for the poor game by Rasheed, Mcdyess scored 8 points on 4-5 shooting
and also pulled down 6 rebounds, 4 of which were offensive.
Other than Mcdyess the Pistons bench was relativley quiet as,
the starters (as has been the norm in the past few years) did most of the work.
Dyess was once again a great asset off the bench for the Pistons
Billups led all scorers with 25 points on 8-15 shooting, he also added 6 assists.
Ben Wallace had another great hustle night with 9 points 12 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Bobby Simmons paced the Bucks with 24 points on 11-18 shooting he also pulled down 8 boards.
Magloire had a big rebounding night with 15 boards, but only scored 4 points.
Coach Saunders was once again happy with his teams performance saying at the post gmae conference:
"I think we played well, we didnt let the fact that Sheed was having an off night get to us,
Chauncy stepped up when we needed it most, and we played some great D to pester them all night.
We may not have played the best offense but we still pulled through, and that is what I believe makes a championship team."
Next game: vs Wolves
