Just saw Jarhead and King Kong.
Jarhead sucks! It might be better off if I had read the book.
As for King Kong.
Peter Jackson did achieve his goal of making have-a-popcorn, sit-back-relax, don't-think-too-much-about-the-plot movie but he could have at least put some creativity into it. Best example is the gorilla-dino fight. I can only imagine how Peter Jackson conceived that one:
PJ: King Kong needs to fight a dinosaur, so the new movie would stay true to the original movie.
movie exec: That's great, but remember, we need it to be spectacular to rake in the moviegoers. How about a T-Rex? That worked for Jurassic Park.
PJ: Sounds good, but I have a better idea. How about TWO, and I mean TWO T-Rexes?
movie exec: Outstanding!
PJ: Wait, I just thought of an even greater idea. I'll put in THREE T-Rexes!!!
movie exec: Peter Jackson you're a genius!
I also can't help the feeling that King Kong really wanted to die in the end, as if King Kong committed suicide by letting himself fall from the tower.
Emo Kong.

Coach Carter. It has its flaws ('The next Lebron James', And1 and some of other thing that shouldn't be there in 1999), but it's still the best basketball flick I have ever seen. But then again, I have yet to watch Hoosiers.
Edit: A Knight's Tale. Surprisingly watchable movie, a male Cinderella story. Shannon Sossamon is cute.

I saw Syriana today, can't say I understood much of it, that's what happens when you watch a movie with friends who are too drunk for their own good.
I watched half of Bandidas aswell, the story is nothing special but Hayek & Cruz = Hot. Lucky ass Zahn.

I finally got to watch Saw II. Personally, I wish there were more individual cases with different scenarios rather than have a bunch of people locked in a house. The ending was slightly surprising, but overall, I was a little disappointed since the first one was a movie I really enjoyed. The acting's better, that's for sure.

Team America? I thought it was fucking hilarious..
Lisa: I.N.T.E.L.L.I.G.E.N.C.E. is down! I repeat, we have no I.N.T.E.L.L.I.G.E.N.C.E.!

The girl next door. Any good?
Tue Mar 14, 2006 6:26 am
Shit, anything with Elisha aka PMFK, it's good for me.
She's uber hot in GN though.
Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:20 am
It's a very underrated movie

I like it, there's some awesome characters.
Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:39 am
Girl Next Door is one of those silly unrealistic comedies, but it's actually enjoyable to watch compared to the other drivel they put out. You Got Served, pfft.
Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:40 am
Oh come on, what's unrealistic about a teenage boy who has a porn star move in next door and fall in love with him, while he is forced by her sleazy manager to steal a golden penis in order for him to leave her alone
Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:43 am
Come to think of it, she didn't really seem like a porn star

Hell, Natalie Portman was more credible as a porn star in Closer despite looking like a 16 year old girl.
Tue Mar 14, 2006 8:45 am
That's true actually, she just seemed like some regular teenage girl. I think she should've hooked up with Eli, he was by far funnier than Chris.

well there's 'risky business'.... if you're talking about current ones, i dont know, don't think theres any out there that are similar and any good.
god, i just realized how shallow i am. i think i would watch anything with a hot girl in it, yet i've put off watching munich for like a month. i don't think i will ever watch transamerica except by accident. yet i can't wait to get my hands on 'into the blue' lol. story of my life. without hot girls i'd have nothing to do except something constructive. yech, constructive. hot girl power! saucy.

Capote. Great, GREAT acting. Hoffman deserved every pound of that Oscar he got. An original view on the most important years of Capote's life.
And yeah, Risky Business is cool, but I was thinking about more recent movies. An original, underrated teen comedies.

The God Who Wasn't There. Moore-ish, brutally honest documentary who presents you story of Christ in a different light.
Fri Mar 17, 2006 3:25 am
Ooo a Moore-ish documentary

I might check it out...
I am Sam, now that's an awesome movie.
Fri Mar 17, 2006 9:02 am
Pff, that's just Sean Penn trying his best to imitate Dustin Hoffman in Rain Man. Mediocre at best.
Sat Mar 18, 2006 9:33 am
Well, I just came back from watching Hostel. Simply put, that was an amazingly fucked up movie. Not fucked in a bad way, fucked in the most awesome possible way. Ever.
In my own words, that was freezingly cool.
Can't say I haven't thought of pulling some of those stunts myself on a few individuals I've come across in life.
If you can, watch it on the bigscreen, it'll add a lot more than watching it on DVD.

What was the movie about?
I saw Four Brothers and i liked it
Sat Mar 18, 2006 10:28 am
