I think Larry tries to stick to one way because he knows it's the best way to play basketball. Right now, his roster is a nightmare, loaded with guys who don't hustle and don't get it.

I think in the Knicks situation, the players have to adapt to the coach. Not the other way around. It's not like they were setting the World on fire playing their own way, why the players don't realise this I'll never know.

Brown's not completely devoid of mistakes, if I were him I'd be giving major minutes to Lee and Frye. Not letting them rot on the bench.

Easier said than done though. Without some change in Larry Brown's approach he's still trying to get blood from a stone. The players need to adapt and adopt his philosophy but he still has to utilise their strengths effectively. Again, easier said than done of course but the way I see it complete stubborness on both sides won't achieve anything.

Back onto the Marbury playing his way....he didnt do too bad of a job.
I was more impressed with his passing and efficiency, he only got 1 TO and shot 11-17.
The thing Im even more impressed at, is they gave Denver a run for their money, and they all played shit except Marbury.

just remember, marbury is playing in his hometown and you can just imagine all the idiot friends he has telling him he is the best point guard in the league. unfortunately, he believes that despite his record. he still blames his teammates for his not getting many assists.

he was quoted saying something like "if they don't score, you can't get no dime"...

which is a basic truth but...look at a Nash (MVP again) and he gets HIS players in the right position to score and thus makes it easier for them to succeed.

if you watch marbury he makes some really hard looking passes to his rookies in traffic and expects them to just turn around and shoot...as if they were able to make all star moves.

he's a funny point guard. his assists only come from strong dribble penetrations and a quick dish. He doesn't break down defenses as much as he blows by his defender.

If Mike D'Antoni coached the Knicks, they still wouldn't rebound, defend or pass enough. Nash makes that team work with his superior unselfish play. And if you look at his teammates, they look HAPPY to play. Just take a look at Marbury's boys on the court...they look pissed

That's why Isiah shoulders most of the blame for this sorry season. He put this roster together. Why hire Brown to coach a team that can't(or won't) play Larry Brown basketball?

Brown's no angel in this either. He knew the type of player Marbury was, yet he still took Dolan's millions. He needs to STFU - he's a big phony too. He always preaches team, yet he abandoned the Nets(on the eve of the playoffs) to coach Kansas.

Perhaps Larry Brown is trying to send a message of "I told you so" and is just trying to make Marbury come out as an idiot, and just watch idly by as this team plummets in the standings.

Maybe, but that's a pretty poor coaching method. Finding a way to utilise the talent at his disposal would be more commendable.
