NBA Mock Draft (1st round) Made by Me

Postby KIG1 on Sat Mar 11, 2006 4:34 pm

1. Charlotte Bobcats- Rudy Gay|SF|Connecticut
Extremly athletic and would fit well with Gerald Wallace

2. Chicago Bulls- LaMarcus Aldrige|PF|Texas
Move Tyson Chandler to C, and LaMarcus to PF. Beast on the glass

3. Portland Blazers- Adam Morrison|SG/SF|Gonzaga
A great shooter who can play either SG or SF for the Blazers

4. Atlanta Hawks- Andrea Bargnani|PF|Italy
A top prospect from Italy who can shoot the three. Compared to Pau Gasol

5. Orlando Magic- Rodney Carney|SG/SF|Memphis
With an aging Grant Hill, Carney could be the future SF.

6. Toronto Raptors- Shawne Williams|SG/SF|Memphis
Terrific size, and can shoot from the SF position

7. Seattle Sonics- Josh McRoberts|PF|Duke
Needs a post presence, and McRoberts is a master at it.

8. Boston Celtics- Aaron Gray|C|Pittsburgh
Deep need of a center, Boston might take a chance on Gray.

9. Golden State Warriors- Shelden Williams|PF|Duke
A good shot blocker who could add some defense to the Warriors.

10. Chicago Bulls- Ronnie Brewer|SG|Arkansas
Would be a solid back-up to Ben Gordan, and would add some size at the position.

11. Minnesota Timberwolves- Randy Foye|PG|Villanova
Minnesota, who doesn't have a solid true point guard might select Foye.

12. Houston Rockets- J.J. Redick|SG|Duke
A great shooter, who could take Bobby Sura's role

13. Sacramento Kings- Brandon Roy|SG|Washington
With Roy and Kevin Martin, they could be the future of the Kings.

14. Utah Jazz- Mardy Collins|PG/SG|Temple
Can take a starting spot at SG, and with his great vision, Him and Deron Williams could stack up the assists.

15. New Orleans/OK City Hornets- Maurice Ager|SG|Michigan St.
New Orleans doesn't have a pure shooter, and Ager could be that player.

16. Philadelphia 76ers- Daniel Gibson|PG|Texas
Ollie is the 76ers second option at PG, so Gibson could back-up AI.
17. Phoenix Suns- Josh Boone|PF|Connecticut

18. Washington Wizards- Hilton Armstrong|C|Connecticut
In need of a good phyiscal center. He could start or back-up Brenden Haywood.

19. New York Knicks- Richard Roby|SG|Colorado
A great penitrator who could create things for the inside and outside game.

20. New Orleans/OK City Hornets- Kevin Pittsnogle|PF|West Virginia
Another great shooter who the Hornets could use in clutch situations.

21. Indiana Pacers- Tiago Splittler|PF|Brazil
If they move Jermaine O'Neal to Center, Splitter has the talent to start at PF.

22. New Jersey Nets- Marco Killingsworth|PF|Indiana
Since Clifford Robinson is aging, Killingsworth could be the future PF of the team.

23. Memphis Grizzlies- Paul Davis|PF/C|Michigan St.
Has range and could play center by the side of Pau Gasol.

24. Cleveland Cavaliers- Darius Washington Jr.|PG|Memphis
A very quick PG who can dish it to Lebron on the fast break.

25. New Jersey Nets- Guillermo Diaz|PG/SG|Miami
Can play two positions and can be used as a good role player

26. Los Angeles Lakers- Marcus Williams|PG|Connecticut
Could create very many shots for Kobe Bryant, and others.

27. Phoenix Suns- Dee Brown|PG|Illinois
Would be a very nice fit in the fast-break style of the Suns.

28. Dallas Mavericks- Mike Gansey|SG|West Virginia
Could play as a good bench player, and also adds another shooter on the Mavs.

29. New York Knicks- Marcus Vinicius|SF|Brazil
A phyiscal player who has great size.

30. Portland Blazers- Shannon Brown|SG|Michigan St.
A fantastic athlete who along with DMiles could bring more fans to Portland.

I dont really know much about College basketball but i think in a magazine somewhere it said Dee Brown would be like late second round as well as JJ Reddick. Out of the NCAA matches we get on TV, ive only seen a couple of Duke ones so i dont know much about it. Cool read anyways. (Y)

I heard somewhere that LaMarcus Aldrige was gonna stay one more year. But if he does decide jump to the NBA, he's gonna be going up pretty high. And if the Bulls are picking at #2, thanks to NY, than Aldrige sounds very good. A good post player is what they are missing. I don't know about #1 though. I think the Bobcats might want a SG more than a SF, but again, i don't know much and don't care much about the Bobcats.
Good stuff (Y)

I got no problem with your Top 5....seems smack on at this present time....after that, it's all conjecture at this point....some I would agree with, some I wouldn't....I'll put my 1st Mock up when the early entry deadline is over in mid-May as is too early to know who is in & who is out....I expect a player like Josh McRoberts to stay at least another season at Duke....

If McRobert is smart, he will stay at Duke and be the new star on that team.
I don't think the Bobcats will be pickin' an SF.
They need to look at SG's right at the moment.
Adam Morrison maybe ?
Also I don't think Shawne Williams will be comin' this year.
Maybe next year as well.

I'd agree with C-Lao, McRoberts & Williams will be better served spending at least another year in college....as for Gay going No. 1, it really depends on the NCAA Tournament, his workouts & who's picking....I'm really expecting Aldridge to go No. 1 to tell you the truth, especially in such a weakish top-end of the draft....with the injuries that the Cats other big's have, Aldridge would be a better fit than Gay....imagine if the Bulls did get Aldridge, damn Isiah is a clob of chizz....imagine the pairing of Frye & Aldridge for the future

Hey.. all u college bball junkies... I just wanted to ask about whether Saint Peter's Keydren Clark will have a chance to be picked up in the second round?

I know that his size and lack of ball handling skills for a point guard takes a knock at him but he is a great scorer and a leader... So, can anyone tell me if he has the slightest shot at making the NBA?

Watched Duke against NC and Texas. Reddick's game will probably successfully translate to NBA simply because he's so damn good at using screens and shooting from every position on the court. I just don't know how he'd look coming off the bench and without running so many plays for him. His game is more suitable as a starter, with a athletic, defensive minded swingman for his partner to complement his game.

Sheldon Williams is underrated. He'll be a great role player in the league and a succesfull starting PF, you can count on that. He's very much like Emeka Okafor. I only hope he'll be measured out at 6'9 or bigger with shoes on, because he looks awfully small on the court.

Greg Paulus has a nice career ahead of him.

Josh Mcroberts urgently need AT LEAST another season under his belt. His game is raw like hell and he relies too much on his athleticism and not enough on his skills.

Tyler Hansborough h is a monster and will make a terrific energy guy one day. If he skips draf this year, NC will dominate next season.

In perfect world Lamarcus Aldridge would stay another year playing for Texas, to hone his game and use his first healthy summer to bulk up to circa 250, 260 pounds. He looks like a stronger version of Bosh to me.

Don't know about Orlando. When Hill retires they have Ariza so I think Carney will be a Future SG.

Perhaps in NBA Live, but not in real life. They're playing him awfully little considering they're supposedly tanking games/developing young players.

The nes that bug me are Shannon Brown and Randy Foye. The Wolves got a solid true PG in the Ricky Davis trade. Marcus Banks. And I believe Shannon Brown is staying another year. These early mock drafts aren't any good IMO (no disrespect. I'm talking early mock drafts in general.) There are some players who won't play well in the rookie workout, and some unknowns who will be a first rounder (David Lee)

How can you make a mock draft when you don't even know who gets lottery picks and in what order??

ahh, good old Keekee Clark....my sister likes him, saw him play at MSG before the St. John's-UMass game in December....she thought he was NBA talent, but I don't think he's a shot of going in 2nd Round....if you had asked me when he was a freshman, my opinion might have be different, but he's a 5'10" PG who over this seaons shot in the high 30's from the field, in the low 30's from 3Pt land....for me, as a 5'10" PG you're already stretching it, but when you have games where you shoot 4/22 from the field, then you're not going to be drafted....seems more like a SG in a very undersized PG's body to me....meaning, I don't think he's the next Tyus Edney....sorry, I hope for your sake that I'm wrong....

haha... well, back in Rice, he played SG. So noone ever really expected him to do too well at the point. But you have to admit that he's adapted pretty well. As for the poor shooting percentages... the team he's got in New Jersey... he has to shoot a lot. Or else the Peacocks didn't have a chance. All the teams that play them know he's the man. So to be scoring this much is actually quite an acheivement.

Well... I just hope he comes to the NBL... I hope South Dragins pick him up! Although, I doubt he's very well known to many people.. he still was the back to back scoring leadeer in the nation for the two seasons prior to this.

yep, I kinda figured his shooting percentages were a result of playing for an inferior team, & he did do well to get them within 1 game of the NCAA Tournament....last time I checked, he was the NCAA's All-Time Leader in 3Pters made, although Redick might have passed him or will during the Big Dance....

he will have a chance at Portsmouth & so on to prove that he can run a team....if he can then he's on the radar, if not, the Fakers, here Keekee comes

JJ is only maybe 5 shots from passing KeeKee??

I just don't want him to go and people see him on that all-time scoring list and ask, 'who the hell was he?'
