It definetely will be remembered in history.
As much as I thought The Passion of the Christ was a powerful movie, there are a lot of critics that go out their way to say there's unncessary violence. I think it depicts the suffering of Jesus in an accurate portrayal, though I'm not sure if the point of the movie is just to showcase his suffering rather than his love.
yeah theres a lot of criticism on the violence and anti-semitism in the movie, but what can i say? controversy is a consequence of great art. gibson told his story in an uncomprimising way.... not for the shock, but for the story. No one can come out of that movie, whether they liked it or not, without feeling sympathy, compassion, even guilt; you will finish the movie utterly and intensely exhausted. we as viewers have greater empathy with what we can see; and the greater the travesty, the greater the sympathy. I think the film was powerful. not everyone will like it, its almost an atmospheric experience, but i think its a great example of commercial high art.

and Todays movies are either.....
A Cinderalla Story or Romeo and Juliet (the one with Leonardo Di Caprio.)
Which one should I watch?

Cinderella Story seems to be a chick flick, something you'd like.
No, but seriously, Romeo & Juliet.
Fri Mar 10, 2006 9:39 pm
You seem to be watching alot of these type movies lately. The Romeo and Juliet (Modern Version) is quite trippy but quite cool. Id go Cinderella Story

Go with A Cinderalla Story, I loved that movie for some reason
Maybe because of my love of Hilary Duff

Screw Cinderella Story.

I agree. That's probably one of the main reasons I bought this movie. As for the anti-semitism, I think that's just blown out of proportion from the movie's standpoint, because of the attempt to show the event in an accurate portrayal. Regardless of how others feel about the movie, it's guaranteed to evoke emotion.
Jackal wrote:So basically Cyanide was asking if the poster I bought, was the shot of Al Pacino and "his little friend".
Yep, that's what I meant.
I think you should go for one of the two Batman Begins posters that you and Jae posted. They look so freaking awesome. I wouldn't go for any Godfather III posters, simply because that movie and especially Andy Garcia disappointed me.

I was disappointed aswell, but I mean just look at this:
That's just the epitomy of freezing cool.

hilary duff looks like a constipated skeleton nowadays, go with romeo and juliet if only for the awesome soundtrack. the godfather III poster would be so much better if it didn't say "godfather III" at the bottom reminding you of how dissapointing the movie actually was. in terms of aesthetic beauty i'd say i prefer the godfather poster though, but you can't go wrong with the batman one.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 9:50 am
Yeah, as soon as I see the "III" behind it, it reminds me of Garcia sexing up his niece. Bleh.
As you said, the amazing quality of the shot is just so fucking impressive, it just screams power.
The Batman one, after seeing the one Jae & I posted from online, the one I saw in real life looks sort of...well mediocre. It's a shame they didn't have
this one.
Oh wells, tomorrow after work I'll head over, I'll let you guys know, might settle for something entirely different. Tomorrow's their last day there.
Edit: Someone, fast, anyone know where I could order posters online, where they'd be willing to ship it to the Netherlands, accept Paypal? I just figured which poster I should have in my room. Tis pretty obvious when you think about it.
Click it.

I gotta admit, that is a very nice Godfather III poster. Why not get both?
As for posters online... all I can think of is eBay.

gfiii= godfather3
the director/producer should have found a much more attractive actress to play Juliet. Claire Dane? she's broke. Leonardo dicaprio is prettier the she is

Above The Rim. A bit on the dumb side of the street, but still enjoyable. It would be better if someone actually knew how to play basketball and they'd used 10 foot rims. I mean, how many sub-6-footers can do 360 nearly every time? And Tupac is so gangsta that it's actually stupid. No wonder somebody shot him. I pitty the fool.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 8:50 am
Treasure Island?
Sun Mar 12, 2006 9:24 am

Yeah I spent a free $14.95 on the movie, I was so disappointed but at least there was some b-ball action.
Should've got He Got Game. JESUS SHUTTLEWORTH! (i think)
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:23 pm
I bought that DVD too but I haven't watched it yet.
I prefer The Air Up There... feel good Disney movies in which Kevin Bacon gets sliced open in some bizarre African ceremony are always fun.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:33 pm
Is that the one where he goes to africa and they show some guy jumping off a cliff?
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:37 pm
I think so... he sees a video clip of some African women playing basketball, then some tall dude dunking and swatting them all. He goes to Africa to recruit him for his college team.
Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:39 pm
I think i've seen it, it
was a feel good Disney Movie
Sun Mar 12, 2006 1:13 pm
