Suns Press Release - The Phoenix Suns announced today that they have waived swingman Jim Jackson. The 6-6, 220-pound guard/forward averaged 3.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in 15.6 minutes in 27 games (one start) with the Suns in 2005-06. Jackson, who is in his 14th NBA season, has not played in the team’s last 24 games, dating back to Jan. 4 vs. Philadelphia. “Jimmy has made great contributions to our team and has been a consummate professional. We wish him well,” said Suns Head Coach Mike D’Antoni.

Jimmy's a pretty good role player, I think alot of teams could use him. But I've heard the Suns are interested in Tim Thomas too, so maybe this is part of the process.

Sucks for Jimmy . I wish him to go to another team , maybe he might return to the Rockets since they just waived Jon Barry?

Jimmy has a few years left and he is still a good solid bench player.
Teams who need a good veteren should pick him up in a week or two.
Like TBD said, this may be part of the process to bring in Tim Thomas.

He was playing sooo bad at the beginning of the season. I guess I'm glad he's gone. He would've been waived at least a month ago if there wasn't the possibility of him being included in a trade.

I think we're all missing the big picture here. With this move, the Suns have generously allowed Jim Jackson to pursue the record of most NBA teams played for during a career. His next team will be number twelve which will tie him with Chucky Brown. Assuming he latches on elsewhere this season all he has to do is find his way onto a roster next year, play a game and the record is his.
