CP3 Overrated

Am I the only one that thinks he is overrated I mean he is good but can he even shoot? Aslo he choked against Deron Williams and the jazz tonight in the 4th qrt. His points to mins has got to be higher than CP's.

I wouldn't base his performance on one game.

Looking at your avatar, I see that you're a Jazz fan. Ah.

He's having the strongest rookie season in recent years. Yes, better than Lebron and Amare. Of course, all of those players had huge jumps in subsequent years so we'll see how he does in coming years. As of now, he's looking mighty fine.

Were 50+ games into the season. What im saying is Deron Williams is a better shooter and after he gets to play some more I think his stats will be as good as CP's.

^ CP3's performance against the Jazz for one game doesn't make him overrated anyway. He's having a great 50+ game season.

Deron WIlliams does not have a good shot, well not at the moment at least. Cp3 is having a great Rookie season and 1v1 I would say CP3 would win.

Wtf... no he didn't.

I think he's probably overrated, but it's not his fault. The media jock-ride him like there's no tomorrow, he's playing great and has ROY guaranteed but I don't think he's the second coming or anything, despite what ESPN might hope.

OK I should probly change the name of this topic. But what is all the hype about? and yes Williams is a good shooter. If Williams would of had a crappy game tonight against the hornets than everyone would be saying how good CP is blah blah blah.

I will blah then. CP3 is good, damn fine player. He's putting the best numbers out of all the rooks. You wanna know what the hype is about? New Orleans 7th in the West for a team who no one thought they would be and a majority of his play has got them there.

The reason he's getting all the love now, is because on draft day, I remember there being a lot of talk about him being the wrong pick, and how his game would not translate well into the NBA, etc. etc. by a lot of naysayers who were riding the jocks of the Tarheel boys. Looks like the Hornets knew what they were doing. I see a very bright future in store for CP3. This kid's done a whole lot as a rookie, and it's not like he's playing alongside stars there in OK City, or in the greatest situation with no real home court and all that jazz.

Just before anyone says it "The jazz/jazz fans are sore lozers just because they didnt take CP over Williams" or somthing along the lines of that. CP didnt want to come to utah or we would of probly gotten him. So if we did draft day over again the jazz would probly still take williams over paul just for that reason. Im done with this topic back to the 06 patching forum.

You know you're just a sore loser. You wish Utah had Chris Paul instead of Deron Williams.

I don't think Paul is overrated at all. I would call him underrated if anything. He can do just about anything. Lead, pass, score, shoot, defend, rebound. He is phenominal, and if Matthew is still re-doing drafts for NLSC in 5 years, then Paul will be #1.

I can foresee a year of 21 ppg, 10 apg, 2.5 steals, 6 rebounds in his prime.

You honestly think he's underrated? By who exactly? The entire Rookie All Star game was spent jock riding Paul, people were even suggesting he should've been in the real all star game. Some are calling him the next Isiah... not to mention that the fact that his team still wins without him is barely mentioned, and the mass media give him credit for single handedly reviving them.

Which is what I said when everyone was riding Steins all star selections, which included Paul as an all star.

statistically he's having a great rookie campaign, but what sets him apart is that he has a great feel for the game. He controls the tempo and runs the offense like he wishes. He plays like a guy with experience.

Do you want to know how good Chris Paul is? His former team , the Wake Forest Demon Deacons , is absolutely horrid without him. Since he left , they are 2-11 in the ACC and 14-13 overall. Wake Forest is a team with tons of talent but unfortunately since he left they have been lacking at point guard and now aren't as good as last year.

It's a no-brainer : chris paul for rookie of the year :)
(hopefully this doesn't jinx him like the kobe bryant sig jinxed kobe's team)

Great... the Jazz fan downplays Paul because his team drafted a fat bench guy instead of him, and teh Australians pick on him because he gets all the attention and Bogut gets zilch. Gotta love the draft. (Y)
