Showtime in All Star Games

Postby artestfighttrainer on Tue Feb 21, 2006 6:19 am

I thought this yr, 05, 04 there wasn't enough showtime in the ASG. Shaq, Vinsanity, Tmac and few others do well in it but it seems like the ASG is losing some of its glamour. My 2 cents on it, what is yours?

I thought last year's game was pretty lame. There was no defense whatsoever. This year was pretty cool, defense was great, partually it was because of 4 Pistons there :) I stil do not get why the free throw % is so low :( It was a good game this year, defenatelly worth watching.

I thought of an idea to help the showtime in ASG before and Bill Simmons had the same idea in the article I just read on ESPN. They need Jason Kidd and playmakers in ASG. Nash was the only one there for 06. It will make the breaks better. You have to admit it was very sloppy yesterday on the fast breaks. Unfortunately as we all know these type of players are a rare breed in the NBA so less chance of them making it in ASG.

though this year is better than last year but 2000 is still my favourite all-star weekend.., may be it's because they wear their own team jersey... or VC was putting a show that i just couldn't get it out of my mind.
btw, is it just me or the jersey this year is as bad as Damon Jones' ?

yeah, basically the guys out there forced the passes. LeBron didn't really exhibit any of his passing skills did he?

ASG needs playmakers

i think that stern and the other in the nba have to do something about this showtime i don't know if this is a good idea but il post it anyway
they can do a rule about the ASG on a team they could be just two players on each position( i mean 2 PG,2 SG and so on...) that would 10 players and the other two would be decided buy stern
i think with this rule there would be a place for playmakers like jason kidd, terry and others

the problem is that the starters get the bulk of the minutes anyway. Unless JKidd makes it as a 6th or 7th man he aint gonna get that much time

i'd take the competitiveness over the flashiness anyday. really, alley oops and all that shit don't mean anything if the other team doesn't try to stop it from happening.

The best NBA era is still the Magic vs. Bird... Extreme D + Showtime offense...

I reckon if J-Kidd came off the bench and was playing well they'll keep him on. Yao in 06 ASG wasn't playing that well got benched for quite a long time by Avery Johnson. Yeah the 80's they were the good days. Hmmm I wonder when Jason Williams will ever be an all-star to improve the showtime? I think it'll be a while...

Yao, Yao, Yao... How can you be 7"5 and get outrebounded by a 6foot guy? It seems to me that Yao is loosing his potenital and his will to play well.
