Which Dunk was better in Dunk Contest?

Postby air2k5 on Sun Feb 19, 2006 1:44 pm

I could not believe the dunk contest. Though dissapointed by Josh Smith it was amaizing. By the way wtf was taht mark above 3 free throw line he put down for? lol I said that I will get drunk tonight if he dunks from there. Anyway which dunk was better? Andre's dunk from behind the hoop or Nate's jump the fuck over spud webb dunk?

Nate won becaue he is so short, and his dunk was pretty damn nice. However I thought that Ai's dunk was whole lot harder, and on the last attempt AI must have gotten cooled of, after waiting 30 mins for his turn.
P.S: how many attemps did NAte had in total? I would guess at least 30.

I enjoyed little Nate's dunk more. But Igoudala's was probably technically better.

Too bad he brought out his big guns in the first round instead of last...

Iggy's dunk was way better than Nate's.....Nate's was nice, but Iggy's was on a different level, shame he ran out of tricks (N)

Iggy's dunk was really the only original one in the contest. And for that matter...the only one of his own that was original, which would be why he lost.

Yea, but he's 5"7 though. And the dunk looked nice, so I would give it a 10 anyway.

Yea, but he jumped over Spud. If he wouldve jumped over someone taller its a better dunk. Plus, we saw this last year when Josh Smith put on the Dominique

Even though the dunk was new it wasnt really anything to knock my socks off. The best part to me is the attempt he missed where he hit his head on the backboard.

last year smith did a windmill when he wore the dominque jersey
the only person he jumped over was martin when he was sitting down

As impressive as Nate's dunk was, it has been done before. Iguodala's dunk was something that hasn't been done in an NBA dunk contest before. It's hard to write off Nate's dunk because it was very cool to see Spud Webb out there in his old jersey and it was a tremendous leap, but Iggy's dunk had hangtime, a very high degree of difficulty, originality...I have to give it the edge.

i like nates better..when igoudala was doing his dunk with allen iverson, i knew what he was gonna do because he missed the first attempt...i kind of lost the feeling of the dunk

with nates dunk, i thought spud was gonna alley oop the dunk to nate, but nate just jumped over spud...i was very shocked and it looked very good

I don't know, Nate's dunk looked good in terms of his form, it was very nice. AI's dunk...It was something new I guess and it was tougher, That is why I like it more.

..I think nates through the legs could easily be up their with the best of the night also. Imagine if he got it first go from the backboard! Also, Smiths free throw dunk was still pretty amazing, despite the mysterious tape.

I dont think you can say "well he's 5'7 so the dunks are harder for him". That's not fair to anyone else in the competition.

Nate over Webb... I wasn't that impressed with the Iguodala/Iverson dunk. It looked cool until the finish, which looked kinda awkward. Also, who cares that his head was near the backboard... most big time dunkers these days get their head up near (and above) the rim most times. Still pretty cool, and original.

Can't wait for James White next season.

Nate basically won because he's very short. Had his dunks been done by J-Rich or J Smith he would have gotten terrible scores since they've all been done to death.

Iggy's dunks, all very nice, high difficulty, lots of body movement.
