REBOUNDS!

Postby D1X1NG on Thu Nov 21, 2002 7:45 pm

as a fan of the nba live series since it started I never knew why they never did a rebounding system like in nba2k2 game from sega...
and I for one who has dreamcast and have the game nba2k2 which you think its the "nba live 2002" then its not its another nba game just from sega !
the problem with nba live with the rebounds is there are no "strong rebounds" or "little rebounds" or even "rebounds" ... most of the time the ball flies in the air and then misteriously sticks into a players hand if its close to it... now sometime its ok but most of the time I realy dont like it.
in nba2k2 you see the player grabbing the ball HARD!!!
trying to reach it and sometimes with 2 hands getting a very powerfull rebound and sometimes reaching it from far away to take it from the opponent... but always the ball have to touch his hand to get into it... it doesn't just stick to the hand. I was realy hoping they could do something about this one, because sometimes a good rebound is eually satisfying like a good block, believe me I know :P
also if talking about blocks then the block system in nba live 2003 is gr8 but the balls dont have to fly half court just from a block...
anyway I'm sorry for making this thread so messy but you got my idea.

A nice idea to add new and improved rebounding animations (maybe even the ability to tip rebounds to yourself, a la Dennis Rodman), although the main problem in recent years has not been the appearance, but the number and nature of rebounds (more offensive than defensive). It seems that Live 2003 has gone back to it's earlier days (offensive rebounds harder than defensive rebounds, as it should be), so maybe the next step for rebounds will be better looking rebounds.

your right... there has been a very very good improvement over nba live 2001, but although now offensive rebounds are now a lot harder to take and dont just fall into your hands more animations are totally needed.
like I said, nba2k2 is a very good simulation nba game and even though I'm a fan of nba live series and I just LOVE this one I cant wait to see nba2k3.

Very true.
Other aspects of the game have been refined. Like stealing, blocking, postup and dunking. It would be nice to see them refine rebounding.
Also, it would be nice to see players with good rebounding skills actually rebounding instead of getting beat by guards and small forwards most of the time.

the only thing i can't stand is the blocking...they should really improve on that..
i like contesting shots rather than blocking shots..there seems to be an all-or-none kinda thing going on in nba live 2003...where u either block it..or even if you jump it's as if u didn't challenge it at all and the ball goes in..
