Gerald Wallace

Sorry if there was already thread about him.

Gerald Wallace has produced some amazing stats earlier this season. (He's now injured, and has been for a few weeks now though). 14.5 ppg and 7.0 rpg while shooting 54%. But what's truly notable are his steal and blocking stats. 2.44 steals per contest, along with 2.19 blocks.

In the month of January (and the last time he played), he got 3.2 steals per game and 3.0 blocks per game, In 10 games. He also scored 16.7 ppg and had 9.2 rpg, aswell as shooting almost 57%FG!

He is also among the most efficient players in the league.

I'm just wondering what everybody's opinion on him is. It seems like he's absolutely broken out, and could be a huge player. But i'm wondering if it's just maybe a lucky start to the season? But it seems like the more recent he played, the better his stats were.

Do you think he can hold these fantastic stats when gets back from injury through to season end?

I'm a very big fan of Gerald Wallace. To me he is one of the most underrated players in the league. I hope that when he gets back, he stays in top form and continues where he left off before the injury.

Yeah, hes definitely on overlooked player. 2.44spg and 2.19bpg arent stats you can say "Its coz he plays for Charlotte." Maybe his points and/or rebounds, but he shoots 54%.
So i gotta say hes the real deal, and I hope all the best for him. I would really like to see him stay in Charlotte though.

I'm still pissed about the kings giving him up. Imagine Wallace at SG and Artest at SF....

They shoulda put webber up in the expansion draft. Seriously.

Webber would've taken up like most of their tiny cap they're only allowed to have in the first 2 years of being an expansion team or something

G-Dub is cool, i respect him, not really worth bandwagoning

He is the definition of athleticism. The guy also hustles like crazy defensively. His shot has improved, though still weak, and he's a nice player, I have him on a lot of my fantasy teams.

Right. The kings could protect all but one player for the expansion draft. They should have protected everyone but Chris Webber, because his contract was so huge, the bobcats wouldn't have taken him period.

Either way, which would you prefer... Gerald Wallace or Chris Webber?

Gerald Wallace, or Kenny Thomas, Brian Skinner, and Scoreless Williamson?

Amazing player, one of the best athletes in the league. I've seen him dunk over guys launching from close to the free throw line in actual game situations, and going the other way block jump shots a good 10 ft after they've been released.

this is what happens when young guys get PT. They are able to learn through their mistakes and turn out to be pretty damn good. No way he'd be this good in Sac-to unless they committed to him fulltime @Sf.

Ok, for the expansion draft.... Every team got to protect all of their players, except one. (unless I am mistaken, wich is possible). We decided to protect everyone except Gerald Wallace. So the bobcats got Gerald Wallace from the Kings.

The kings should have protected everyone except for Chris Webber, because it would have been very unlikely that the Bobcats would have signed him due to his huge contract.

So, there are two possibilities.

1) They don't pick up webber, in which case we still have Wallace, Webber/thomas,skinner,corliss.

2) They do pick up webber, in which case we still have Wallace, but no Webber/thomas,skinner,corliss.

I would take Wallace over Webber or the package of thomas, skinner, and corliss.
