How many believe Pierce will be traded by Feb. 23???

Postby ShAuN on Tue Feb 14, 2006 1:22 pm

Theres alot of rumors about Pierce being moved. But Danny Ainge said he doesnt want to trade Pierce.

In all honesty, yea they should trade Pierce. The team isnt winning with him obviously. Alot of people would say, why hes in his prime, hes peaking. Yea the Cs arent winning with him, they may aswell trade him now for someone up and coming player w/ some picks. Ainge wants to go young and build a team for the future. So trade Pierce for an up and coming player.

One trade is being rumored ALOT. Pierce for Gordon and some picks that could get us Morrison, or Aldridge or someone as low as them. I think the Cs should in fact trade Pierce for Gordon. I know Gordon might not be as good as Pierce, but you never know. The Cs still have Gomes, and Gerald Green. They could get Adam Morrison, or Rudy Gay, or LaMarcus Aldridge or whatever. So yea, who thinks Pierce will be traded??

I thought it was likely this past offseason and before the Ricky Davis trade, but my impressions are that the Celtics are going to keep building around Pierce for at least a little while younger. There may be a youth movement but Pierce isn't over the hill and providing he can mesh with the up and coming players there's no immediate need to deal him.

The Bulls will never trade Gordon. Gordon and Hinrich are getting better and better, they have a potential on becoming a great duo in the NBA, I bought they will let him go. After Celtics traded Davis I do not see them pulling the trigger on Pierce.

I think they should start playing G Money (Gerald Green) so that he can take Pierces spot and they can trade Pierce for some big man help...
I mean of course Green wont take Pierce' spot, but he is capable of doing a good enough job.

He is capable of being a Pierce style player, and Im not saying they play Green and trade Pierce at the end of the season.
Im talking, play Green 6th man minutes until end of next year or year after and then trade Pierce.

Why give him 6th man minutes though? He's not ready to play in the NBA, evident by his NBDL stint. I mean the Celtics aren't completely dead, they shouldn't be tanking the season already. If they're going to give any high schooler minutes, it should be Al Jefferson.

if the Celts don't make the Playoffs, I think there's a strong chance Pierce will get traded.

You are saying that if celtics offered Pierce for Gordon and picks, the bulls won't take it?

Are you serious? Pierce is a 26 ppg scorer, helps greatly on the boards (7.4rpg) and dishes out more than 4 assists a game... and probally just peaked at his prime this year, and will have similar years the next 5 years..
+ he doesn't take too many shots ( i think hes avging 18 a game right now )..

But i guess there is no reason for bulls to get pierce, they aren't going anywhere unless they add a big.. Damn i'm totally contradicting myself..

I think there is almost no way Pierce will get traded before the trade deadline, i don't even think Ainge will get a good enough offer to let him go in the summer..

I don't think bostonc will trade unless they are getting gordon like calibre player + at least 1 lottery pick... or mutiple first rounders..

Agreed.

I think pierce will stay. Pierce is a celtic like Kobe is a laker and like AI is a sixer.

Didn't someone post that GG had half a finger cut off or something? I wonder if he's eligible to play basketball in the paralympics.

I say Pierce is staying in Boston unless the Celtics get a package of players that is too good to give up on. But Pierce is playign well this season... and Ricky was traded before. I don't think the Celtics have any other mvoes to make just yet.

Pierce is staying. No two ways about it. Does anyone really think that DA would trade for Wally if he didn't plan to do ahead with the winning while rebuilding thing he has promoted for a while now?

No, PP is staying. He's not pouting, and playing the best basketball of his career on what may turn out to be the worst team of his career with all the injuries and whatnot.

You might aswell book it, PP stays unless the Celtics get some insane package like NYk pick+Deng+1 future unprotected first from the Bulls. Which we all know wont happen.

Pierce is staying for sure.

Pierce is staying, he's the kind of "veteran" leader (in a couple of years) I would want to have on my young playoff squad (minus a little bit of the ego).

I dont think its a sure thing that he stays a Celtic. They havent had any major success with him and he isnt that big a superstar where he cant be traded. Its more likely he will stay but as someone said before, if a nice package came up for a Pierce deal I dont think DA would pass up on the opportunity. I think he might play better in another uniform because I think he has gotten a little too comfortable with whats going on in Boston.

I find it funny that they traded Ricky Davis for Wally's huge, longterm contract. A smart thing to do would be packing Pierce and Blount for some young talents and picks, while trying to do something with Lafrentz, not getting a player who won't you take anywhere. I say, trade him now.

We've been reading in every single offseason and untill trade deadline that "there are rumors" of Pierce being traded. Still nothing happens. And I think it will stay like that. At least untill offseason. And if he doesn't move this year, I see him as Celtic for the rest of his carrer.

You must be baked out of your mind man.......Green is really good. Hes not playing because Doc Rivers is a moron.

I really think a Pierce for Gordon swap could happen. If we pick up Morrison in the draft, and Pierce or Wally isnt gone by then, then one of them will definatley leave. Itll probally be Pierce because it seems like Ainge likes white players...LoL

hard to say, Mentally H. the deal was an exchange our problems for yours type. So far the early returns on the deal has been negative.

No, PP is staying. He's not pouting, and playing the best basketball of his career on what may turn out to be the worst team of his career with all the injuries and whatnot.

There is nothing to book. Pierce is entering his prime, the youngsters need time to develop, both Pierce and Davis were having their best years and the Celts were still a sub .500 team, and Ainge has been the Boston version of Isiah.

These all are reasons that a trade could happen
