Miami destroys Detroit in the 4th quarter

Postby j.23 on Mon Feb 13, 2006 8:58 am

they were trailing 84-71 in the fourth quarter. score ended up being 100-98 with wade scoring the last 17 points, including the game winner over tayshaun. just a ridiculous game -- i haven't seen GP play that much all season but he's still a ballhawk. although chauncey shot a good percentage, no one could've defended him better. props to shaq too, he played aggressively today, no lazy ass shit.

Tayshaun's shot was after the buzzer anyway.

An awesome game. It was terrific. Kind of made me kneel down in front of the TV.

Actually I expected Wade and Shaq to play like tonight all season. Shaq worked good in the paint today. Hope he is becoming fit at last...

@Toxic You're right Prince could have made the 3-pointer but if you looked closely you should have noticed that the buzzer sounded just before Prince released that shot.

ya seems like prince shot it after the buzzer...
awsome game...

wade/shaq should play like this in important games, and 1 of them play big along with the supporting cast in the remaining games then they can be a contender team

damn, i hate these 4th quarter meltdowns detroit has every once in a while.

Still, i think Detroit has the edge over Miami. It took Miami 68 points from Wade & Shaq to win by 2.

2 more games in this series, it'll probably be 2-2 overall anyways.

I think Detroit is suffering the effects of going at this pace for half a season with no subs. As much as i hate Larry Brown, i think he knew what he was doing keeping the pace maddeningly slow all season.

This isn't a team of 20 year olds who can play 45 minutes a game for 82 games (not that even a 20 year old can do that).

A loss is just a loss, but 66 points in the paint for a team based on its defense?

wow just saw the highlights, Shaq's dunks - wow, the aggression, he had a bounce in his step tonight. If Heat will be playing like this for the rest of the season ( a big if) the conf. finals will be great to see.

lol shaq nearly took the rim down litterly.

this is the type of performance they going to need from shaq, 25+ points from the big fellow vs. the elite teams. they bench needs to be a bit more consistant, 2points for walker, 0 points from posey.

I'm still not sold on this team. Great win for them but I would love to see these types of performances more often.

Great win for Miami but no need for alarm bells in Detroit. They will however have to go undefeated the rest of the way to beat 72-10. 8-)

Wade just played ridiculously good. Its games like these that makes me hate him because people say "thats why hes better than LeBron".

LeBrons turn to do something against a top team now, Spurs @ Cavs tommorow!

You can tell that Shaq wanted to eat these guys alive. Dwyane Wade was absolutely unstoppable as well, but what impressed me the most were those two shots made by Chauncey Billups with Gary Payton on him. That guy is so damn clutch I pissed my pants.

Seriously man..dwayne wade is going to go down as a very special player if he doesnt get injured. He and lebron are the superstars of the next generation.

Those two seem like they will all-star type players...not guys u can build a team around like bron and wade. I don't mind being proven wrong though...i like seeing new superstars..im tired of the guys we've had for the better part of the decade: kobe, garnett, iverson etc.

well, both are all-star types right now. IMO both are guys you build around right now.

Amare-Bosh-Howard are the 3 best young big men. Just wait till Howard gains a cpl more yrs of experience.

They can all be superstars of the next generation because they play different positions.

Also, with Detroit's recent struggles, I think it only proves that San Antonio is right there in contention. They've won 9 in a row, and Manu is now playing at an all-star level. When they played last time, he had just came back from an injury and wasn't playing his best. Detroit only has one less loss than the Spurs.

that's just stupid thinking. no surprise though. If anything that's more of a credit to Wade & Shaq. That's quite an accomplishment for a team to win despite Shandon Anderson playing 13 minutes
