How many of the original players are players actually playing now though? So yes, you can replace players, and the owners make that possible.

Owners are peices of shit.
And it's not every owner I hate. I respect Reinsdorf and Aurebach, and to a lesser extent Jerry Buss.

If you just hate mark cuban, okay, i understand that, i dont like him either. but i translated what you originally said into: all owners suck, and thats where my problem lies. if i got it wrong, then i apologize, but if not, which one is it.

the owners make it possible for the best athletes in the world to play in one league. Talent is relative, players are replacable as long as its not an instaneous turnover. The amount of money the owners invest makes sure that the talent isn't diluted by a poor talent pool.

I dont hate him in the same way I hate gays or abo's, but I hate the way he feuds with refs, great coaches and tries to put himself on the players level (running onto the court). I know he helped turned around Dallas (that was more Don Nelson and Michael Finely though) and bought them a new arena, but to me he is just the owner equivilent of Stephen A. Smith, when he argues with players. Who are they to really criticise NBA players(or refs/coaches) when it comes to the game? That would be like a high school maths/science teacher criticising Albert Einstien.

How is talent relative? If thats genuinely the case, why is Wilt and Oscar held in higher reard in many NBA fans than MJ and Kobe? The owners, in the grand scheme of things, dont invest all that much in terms of talent. Compare New York to Charlotte, compare the bankrolls and the amount of wins.

Now after comparing those, you tell me who is more important to the knicks? The owner, or the likes of Patrick Ewing, Willis Reed, Allan Houston etc.

so you just dislike mark cuban and not the other owners? just trying to clarify.

Are you saying you dislike cuban for criticizing players? doesn't everybody? its just that more people to listen to him then, say, me.

because wilt and oscar and mj all had one thing in common: they revolutionized the game. (kobe, on the other hand, isnt held in the same regard as those three for that reason among others). talent is relative because everything is relative, a teenager nowadays hypothetically could learn or understand the theory of evolution, e=mc squared, and how to make gunpowder, but that doesnt make him smarter than aristotle does it.

i'm not saying the players are worthless, players and owner do need each other; i just don't think its wise to bite the hand that feeds you.

How exactly did Oscar revolutionise the game? Sure he was a big guard, but by that are you saying Muggsy Bogues also revolutionised the game? And if so, more than Kobe?

As for the Owners, I have respect for very few Owners. I respect Reinsdorf (class act), Buss to a point, and Aureobach. Thats virtually about it, although there may be others, i just cant think of any owners off the top of my head.

wtf, you protecting him? On the basis of what do you delete posts just like that? Because Matthew is your friend or what? This is ridiculous, my post didn't break any rules, it was in correct english, no extreme foul words, it was on topic, no discriminating, it wasn't offensive (well maybe a little to Matthew), it was just a tongue and cheek opinion. Delete-worthy? At the very least you are obliged to explain why not so frequent posters arent allowed to argue frequent poster's opinions. You just delete it like it never existed. Pathetic modding. Clearly outsiders opinions arent welcome here unless they're sucking up to you. Pathetic opinion sensoring closedminded mod-nerd.

And i'll bet you'll delete this as well - but i don't give a shit.

I didn't delete any of your posts. I'm not the only moderator here.

It was a stupid post, that's all it was... I wasn't protecting him, you unnecessarily copy/pasted his posts and replaced "owners" with "mommas"... it was lame, not funny in the slightest and wasn't worthy of being posted.

I had 2 posts, both were deleted. The first one certainly didnt warrant deletion on the basis on a mod's opinion of regarding it as 'lameness'.

interesting debate so far...

I'll just say Owners have to be businessmen first so that's why they have to be gutless bastards at times. And that's why there are PR's guys hired ;)
