Oooh...an interesting topic...

I play. (Y)

Heaps of crap, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, i've learend heaps of songs that i can't remember over the years.

5-6 years... been on and off for the last 2 years though.

i have 1 squire electric stratocaster...black...two accoustics (shitty nylon strings) and one reeeeeeally crappy bass guitar. :D

Guitar used to be my whole life! but then friends, internet and school got in the way...i couldn't be bothered practising...so i've been slack lately...loosing all my talent...

While i'm at it, i've been learning drums for the same amount of time... i think i'm more of a drums person now than guitar. i play drums all the time...i love it. my family is a musical type, it got passed down to me. (Y)

I have an accoustic crappy one, one of the strings is broken and I never got it fixed. Started learing when I was in yr 8 for a couple of months and gave up because I couldn't be bothered practising and it was embarassing showing up to lessons having not done anything during the week
I was contemplating picking it up the other day... then I realised I need some new strings and tuning... and I spent my money on a gear knob for my car instead :P
I think eventually though one day, I might learn a song or two. Might even finish learning "love me tender", hehe!!

Cool thread (Y)

I play guitar... For like 8 years or something.

I know many songs... Neil Young (Y), Bob Dylan, Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Nirvana ("Plateau" from the MTV Unplugged album, I absolutely love to play this one), Grateful Band, Alice In Chains, Elvis Presley, Nick Drake, Allman Brothers Band, Ramones, etc...

The last song I started practicising is "The Hook" by Grant Lee Buffalo. I had their first album for a long time, and just recently I took it off the shelves and decided to give it a try after some years. This song blew me away, I loved it and decided to practice it the next day. It's kinda easy to play. The lyrics, amazing:

There's one thing I'll tell you friend
I don't believe in supermen
Who fly through the clouds
Above the rest
I don't believe
In the best

And I never wanted to fight with you
It's just the last thing
That I wanted to do
But you're so afraid
To look at love
You got to let it all go
This cut-above stuff

'Cause this is the hook
That drags you
This is the hook
In the crook of your neck
It's the hook
That snags you
This is the hook

And there's one thing I'll tell you friend
All of our trials are gonna come to an end
And you and I
We're gonna fall
Like we never stood on this little earth at all

And this is the hook that drags you
This is the hook
In the crook of your neck
It's the hook that snags you
This is the hook
In the crook of your neck
The hook that drags you
This is the hook.

I used to have two guitars, an electric and a accoustic one, plus an electric bass too. I sold my guitar, and I'm trying to sell my bass too; I want $ money to buy this beauty:

But I dunno if I'll be able to find it... After all it's a custom guitar... And it may not be cheap... It may cost like $ 3,000 dollars or something like that...

what cheep electric should i buy if i happen to be in a guitar shop in the states?

I think you could find a pretty good Gibson Les Paul for $ 150 dollars at some stores, like in San Francisco... A friend of mine bought one there when he went to the US last July... Hope it helps.

I've played guitar for like a year and a half. I can play somewhere near like 40 songs...don't remember them all. Songs such as Teen Spirit, Everlong, Times like these, etc.

I've got an old Santa Rosa acoustic...but it's dying...so I need a new one...I'm looking at an acoustic electric
