Trade Rumors and players in trading block...

Postby hipn on Thu Feb 02, 2006 8:10 am

Lets talk about trade rumors and who is currently on the trade block. I don't have ESPN Insider so I don't know the trading rumors, but here is the link: http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/features/rumors?&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fnba%2ffeatures%2frumors but I cant view who is interested in getting the players.

hipn to .org for Repole and future considerations (i.e the first non-retarded European to sign up).

Just what I hear, in the grapevine.

I disagree. Good move for hornets.

Second round picks usually get waived anyway.

There's still a chance it might turn into a solid pick.

well theres always a chance.

But usually, second round picks amount to shit.

Maybe 1 or 2 out of 60 are any good.

Steven Hunter can help them out now... Something that two crappy second round picks can't.

Loose rumour that doesn't work under the CBA in it's reported version is:

Raef Lafrentz
2 first round picks
TE

for

Steve Francis

I'd do it, but since the boston side of the trade misses about 300k, and orlando can't do a 2-1 a possible scenario that works would be:

Lafrentz
Jones
2 first round picks
TE

for

Francis
Diener

And I would still do it. DA is good at getting good protection of the picks, and we have a good core as it is. If Francis could be had, with all his problems, it would be a major upgrade.

Why would anyone want Francis?

Nothing, it would just be a good trade. Both are smart, and funny.

Francis has his baggage and all, but surely the Magic would give up a player of his calibre for Raef LaFrentz. LaFrentz isn't useless but Francis remains a top 10 point guard in the league. The smart GM won't give up a top 10 anything without a fair exchange coming the other way.

But these are the two clowns in Orlando that picked Fran Vazquez after he told them that he wouldn't come over. And the GM's that first traded T-Mac for Francis and Mobley, turning around and sending Mobley away for Christie (who then walked at the end of the year).

We aren't talking about R.C Buford here. Still - I agree that it is a very unlikley scenario unless they want to stockpile picks and rid themselves of a cancer.

Touche. :) Surely they'd recognise Francis's value even if they were keen to get rid of him but with that track record who knows.

when webber was out a few weeks back, not only did Hunter not start, he didnt even play! (not for more than a few minutes anyway)

If that isnt a sign that he isnt fitting in at Philly, then I dont know what is

I think that's all the wheeling and dealing the Raptors will do for this season. It will be cool if Eric Williams left because he still is wanting a trade and he is better off not with Toronto.

Check out Aaron Williams. He has been doing good in New Orleans/OKC.
