Try to make the playoffs. With so many veterans and contracts like McGrady and Yao it would be hard to rebuild and start over.

I didn't imply that. This year's draft has some serious talent, at least at the guard position. (ie. Reddick) So, im just saying, maybe they should just go for some youth at their troubled point position.

Go for the playoffs T-mac and Yoa can get them to the 8th seed and carry them through the playoffs.

"Go for some youth" as in trying to get the best player available in the draft? "Go for some youth" is pretty much an irrelevant statement because all teams have the chance to draft a player, unless that is, you mean that they should "tank" the season.

I mean change of pace for acquiring their guards. Their recent point guards have all had expiring, expensive contracts, and have limited the production of their starters. Sura, Anderson, Wesley, and even James have all negatively affected the Rocket's chances. :(

I'd say it's best for Rockets to just settle for a good lottery pick and let T-Mac and Yao rest, while letting Head and Swift develop. Even if they make the playoffs, they'll run head in into San Antonio. It's better for the Rockets to just get a lottery pick, get some new acquisitions to improve their backcourt and bench, and just let loose like they were supposed to this year, but instead, next year.

problem is this years draft has no surefire lottery picks with the exception of morrison and maybe aldrige.... where this years draft is strong at is in the middle and the end of the first round where college veterans usually are
PPL r a little feisty these days:D

Exactly. Hey, the Bulls got to the playoffs after starting 0-9. Of course, the Bulls did that in the much softer East. The Rockets will have to do a lot more, but they have a chance, with T-Mac and Yao back together.

Go out there and compete. Their talent pool has been depleted due to injuries, not a lack of talent to begin with. Making a run at the playoffs will build more character than tanking the season.

fire the staff? it isnt their fault that the team has had the worst luck with injuries...

they should either hone their skills or try for playoffs, but lets face it... the finals go to pistons this season ;)

I really don't think the Rockets are aiming for the Finals this year. They'll be happy enough to just get to the playoffs.

Oh come on... that's just ignorant. I suppose you think everyone other than San Antonio or Detroit should just tank the season as well? If you're not favored then why bother trying? What about the fans?

The Rockets were considered a top level team coming into the season... if they can get healthy and make a run, it won't matter what their seeding is. Their talent, if healthy, is more than that of an 8th ranked seed. The Steelers won the Super Bowl as a 6th seed... they would have been ranked much higher had they not suffered some injuries throughout the season... but they had their guys healthy when it mattered, in the playoffs.

If they get a high pick this year, they'll have more chances to win the chip in years to come.

They'll make the playoffs unles theres more injuries, with a full team we are easily top 4 in the West.

It's not really because they'll be San Antonio... that's just one of the reasons... the Rockets are just basically riding their success on T-Mac and Yao right now... their record with both of them in the lineup shows... I'd just like the Rockets to get players that could keep their consistent. Players that would step up when times are tough, like when T-Mac and or Yao was gone. If Rockets could do that... people would be talking about facing the Rockets in the playoffs with fear.
