So you're saying a game against the Toronto Raptors counts as meaningful?
He shot a good PCT... over 50%, similar to Kobe.
Kobe was force fed the ball (maybe not the entire game, but once he got going definetly).
Wilt Chamberlain: When I got into the 80s, I heard the fans yelling for 100. I thought, "Man, these people are tough. Eighty isn't good enough. I'm tired. I've got 80 points and no on e has ever scored 80." At one point, I said to Al Attles, "I got 80, what' the difference between 80 and 100?" But the guys kept feeding me the ball.
Pete D'Ambrosio (official): The game was a real pain in the neck to call. The last three minutes of the game took about 20 minutes. The Knicks were jumping on guys just to keep the ball away from Wilt. Then New York would get the ball, and Philly would foul.
Al Attles (teammate): After the game, Wilt was in the dressing room and he wasn't celebrating like the rest of us.
I said, "Wilt what's the matter?"
He said, "I never thought I'd take 60 shots in a game."
I said, "But you made 36--that's better than 50 percent."
He said, "But Al--63 shots, Al."
Then he just shook his head.
is it not possible to give credit to another player without discrediting someone else? These are facts that alot of people wouldn't have known about this game. It's called a matter of interest.
Wilt said he forced it after 80, don't you think Kobe forced it as well? At least Wilt can admit it.
Yes it is possible... however, when you keep referring to the game being a blowout, and Wilt being force fed the ball, what else are you try to achieve other than discrediting him? Is that in some way supposed to be a compliment?
If you're not trying to discredit Wilt, I don't see what you're doing. We already know Kobe did great, the second best scoring performance of all time... I don't see what else the is to prove if you're not trying to make Kobe's out to be better.

He's letting people know about facts they may not have known about the game.
Axel wrote:It's all about efficiency... and they were both nearly as efficient. I watched Kobe's game, and he was getting tired. Had he taken 20 extra shots there is no way he would have kept 60% shooting.
I see what you mean, but you were the one who said it wasn't a big deal. I was just pointing out the fact that it was, if that means comparing it to Wilt's game then fine. I didn't deliberately set out to discredit him, but I will admit that I'm less impressed by it having read this website.
"One time, when I was with Boston and he was with the Lakers, Happy Hairston and I were about to get in a scrape. All of a sudden, I felt an enormous vise around me. I was 6-7, 235, and Wilt had picked me up and turned me around. He said, 'We're not going to have that stuff.' I said, 'Yes sir.' -- Paul Silas
"He [Wilt] stopped me dead in my tracks with his arm, hugged me and lifted me off the floor with my feet dangling. It scared the hell out of me. When I went to the free-throw line, my legs were still shaking. Wilt was the strongest guy and best athlete ever to play the game." -- KC Jones
"Once Wilt got upset with me and dunked the ball so hard it went through the rim with such force that it broke my toe as it hit the floor."
--Johnny Kerr
"I still remember the time when one of our strongest men, Gene Conley, decided to fight Chamberlain for the ball. He grabbed it and hung on and Chamberlain just lifted him and ball right up towards the rim."
-- Bill Russell Go up For Glory, p.126.
"The first time I guarded Wilt, I stood behind him and he was so wide that I couldn't see the rest of the game. Then I saw him dunk a ball so hard that it hit the court and bounced straight up back through the rim again."
--Bob Ferry, Tall Tales (by Terry Pluto) p. 326

Then there was this one time that Wilt came in and jumped from the free-throw line and flicked in a finger-roll. Then he just started running up the bleachers towards the exits, impregnating two women on the way (without touching them), and then racing down the street. My friend's co-workers half-sister's best friend's boyfriend said she saw him running and he dipped into a science lab and cured polio. Amazing night for Wilt.
But yeah, good quotes.
