Hahaha guys, have fun with Bl(o)unt. One a month he is great, hits a buzzer beater from 20, whatever. The rest of the time he just drops the ball (literally) and air balls fadaways in the post.

And Marcus Banks doens't have a future (to whoever said that). He's not good. Trust me.

But Ricky D will compliment KG's playing style very well. He speeds up the whole team and plays great perimeter defense.

Kandi Man should be released right now. He's worthless. Wally, ehhhhh, whatever. Might as well try something new, ya know? And a first rounder? Hmm, with our recent drafting success this could turn out to be the best piece of the deal.

Just my thoughts. In the end, Minny probably wins. But we all know that this is just a cap deal for the Celts.

EDIT: Forgot about Justin Reed. One of the most underrated defenders in the game. Just earlier this season he SHUT DOWN Kobe Bryant.

And it looks like Boston wants to become the next 90's Utah Jazz...all whiteness.

You know what is interesting? The Timberwolves host the Boston Celtics on Monday night so the two teams will get familiar with their old friends once again. It's a shame I can't go because I have a church basketball game, I will tape it.

I think it was just a shit trade all together. I would have to say Minnesota came out on top just because they got rid of Olowokandi. Any way to get rid of him is a good move on their part.

The Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor was just on KFAN (local sports radio) and he mentioned how the Timberwolves could have gotten Steve Francis but he doesn't like the contract (we would have had to deal 2 or 3 guys for one) and he doesn't like Francis' relationship with coaches. Taylor also said that the team could be making more moves once he sees how the new guys mesh together. I think Troy Hudson or Marcus Banks could be gone to Seattle soon.

I don't know if the addition of Ricky Davis will suddenly make the Timberwolves so much better. He's almost a clone of Szczerbiak in terms of stats, but now it all depends on chemistry - which I don't have a lot of confidence on Ricky for.

Wally's got 8 points coming off the bench for Boston, Ricky Davis has like 13 in 15 minutes for Minnesota.

I love Ricky Davis and I think this trade will be great. Jim Peterson was talking about the trade all night saying how much he loves the trade. I know it is only one game, but Ricky Davis brought some attitude and some clutchness to this basketball team. He had a big basket, a big defensive stop and a big rebound all in the final 1:08 of the game.

I thought Mark Blount played pretty well, too. Even though he fouled out he wouldn't allow easy baskets. I thought the defense early in the game sucked but as the game moved on the defense tightened up. We are a much more athletic team now and it shows.

Garnett played a great game, especially the 4th quarter. I believe he scored 15 or 16 points in the 4th quarter alone. You can thank Rashad McCants and Ricky Davis for that. Garnett didn't have to carry the team from the get-go and he had more energy down the stretch to win the game for the team. It was a team effort.

Let me tell you one more thing why I love this trade. Jim Petersen and Rex Chapman mentioned this during the telecast. Wally Szczerbiak has a tendency to not only fade in the clutch but get shut down by good defenders. Wally is not very good at creating his own shot, although he has improved, and when he goes up against guys like Shane Battier and Tayshaun Prince, he fades away. Ricky Davis can create his own shot and can beat out with his jumper or off the dribble. He is a much more explosive player and is a triple-threat. That's what I meant when I said Ricky Davis brings more to the table than Wally Szczerbiak.

Overall, it was a great win and you can tell Garnett and Davis will get along just fine. I hope the honeymoon lasts for a long time and hopefully the team can continue this play tomorrow against the Spurs.

Hmm.... Both teams won with their new players.

Wow, Ricky Davis was pwnage, 26 points and he only had one turnover, meaning that he adjusted really well and played under control in his first game.

Wally had 10.... But he came off the bench and didn't get that many shots anyway.

i think riot nailed it on the head with his first sentence in this post

Riot wrote:Why do I like this trade? For a few reasons. For starters we simply just needed a change.

this holds true for both teams imo, the celtics and wolves just were not where they should be at. this trade could definetly help both teams and i honestly dont see either as getting away with murder here. i personally was happy when i woke up and saw this deal, the celtics needed a change and this is a good start. sure it wont make us a championship contender but its a start.

minny but just a slight margin.... boston also did pretty well off this trade.... ricky and paul are both slashers that love to penetrate and as you see with detroit, having players that play specific roles is very effective... although 30mil over 3 million is hard to swallow for a shooter it should bring a calming effect to the offense... also shipping out blount for an expiring contract opens up time for the two young bigs in beantown.... also they had a logjam at the pg position and this helps remove some of the logjam....

meanwhile on the minnesota side, they get some needed athletiscm to help kg.... they were basically a halfcourt team but didn't have the guys to play a decent halfcourt game... this trade will help change the halfcourt game into a fastbreak game.... they have great athletiscm and this trade helps their depth and guard spots... also ricky davis has the attitude and talent to help the team win and if kg can keep him under control, you might see a very potent combo.... mark blount, well if he grabs 5 rebounds and hits the midrange he'll be an upgrade over olawakandi.... also with the development of the kids and the veterans integrating into the offense, minny could make the playoffs this year and be scary a couple years ahead

Don't quote me on this, but because of this trade the Timberwolves also got a $4.5 trade exception because of Mark Blount's trade kicker or something like that. So that is a bonus.
