Minnesota and Boston fans did, there have been rumors about it since the beginning of the month. It's about damn time that it is over so the players don't have to keep looking over their shoulders.

I always thought of Utah being the whitest team. Even if they're not..when I think of Utah that's what I think off.

The deal itself is surprising because it didn't have the same buzz as any potential Artest deals so it has a certain "out of nowhere" feel. It's not altogether surprising they made the deal however considering both teams are struggling and were expected to be doing better.

At the moment I'd give the slight edge to Minnesota because of what Ricky Davis is doing so far this season, his numbers are a bit better across the board than Wally World's. Kandi vs Blount is a toss up. Blount's averaging double digits in scoring but Kandi's numbers are OK for someone playing less than half of regulation. They did give up the first pick though and Boston is getting some talent in return so they've hardly been robbed.

I wish Danny would trade for a good SG to watch, JRich, Maggette when he comes back. Celtics have been boring Pierce is good but hes not really exciting to watch.

Hmmm, they could complete the set by trading Paul Pierce for Keith Van Horn.

I like that trade. Minny gets mid range/10 ft/paint game from Ricky Davis. While Boston gets a 3 ponit shooter from Wally.

Excellent trade for Minny, they get rid of a one-dimensional player & Kandi man and get Ricky Davis & Butter Fingers as well as Banks who just wasn't fitting in in Boston.

talent wise, i think the twolves win this deal in a big way, ricky is more than decent from the field and 3, and is a slasher who can pass. i think blount should compliment kg very well, and banks just might get the oppurtunity he needs to realize the potential everyone sees while not having the pressure of playing true point on his shoulders.

wally is a very underrated player, but minny fills a lot of holes here and they didnt even dilute their talent. smart move not biting on the francis deal, that would've been suicide.

Brian Scalabrine is the Leprechaun!

The trade is pretty even but the Wolves have an edge on Davis IMO. His explosive performance and clutch will complement the Wolves' game. Meanwhile, the Celts get a better shooter in return.

I though Boston is supposed to be rebuilding. I expected them to trade Pierce, Blount and possibly Lafrentz, their biggest contracts, not getting one huge one in return for their young talent. Fire Ainge, fire Doc Rivers and start rebuilding. At least they got a pick in return.

Wow, I never expected this one.

I think Minny won this one, Davis can bring the same amount of scoring that Wally can and doesn't have that big of a contract. Plus Davis is a pretty underrated passer as well.

Mark Blount's contract is a hefty one, but so was Sczerbiaks (however the fuck you spell that) and it isn't as big but its one or two years longer. He's an upgrade over Olowokandi offensively but his rebounding and defence is piss poor.

Marcus Banks is also a guard that plays good defence and is quick as hell. I'm a big fan of his and hopefully he'll get playing time to show how much ass he can kick as a player.

Also, Justin Reed is a top notch hustle guy which is essentially what Dwyane Jones was except Reed's probably a little better.

I'm hopping on teh Timberwolves bandwagon after this one.

Just a blockbuster trade in the number of players it's moving, not in value. Neither team really improves significantly from this.

Ok so what do I think about this? All season long I have been crying rivers everytime I've seen the Celtics. Davis is a nice player, but still selfish and still takes some horrendous descisions on the court. Blount can't rebound for his life. And he's bloody 7ft0. Horrendous. So what you get with Davis is a inreliable scorer - in the sense that you can't really know what his next move will be. Either a showstopping play or a idiotic pass. And yes - I know that Davis dishes out more than Wally. But it isn't because he's a good playmaker. But rather that he puts himself in situations where he has no other alternative than passing.

I see it as Banks and Blount for Kandi, Wally for Davis and Reed for Jones. Three trades in one so to speak. Throw in the 2 2nd rounders for a first and the Celtics comes out on top when you look at it like one big trade. I like ...I think.

Blount, Banks for Kandi
Blount and Kandi is the same player, with Blount having the better stroke from 16ft and in. But the horrendous contract that Blount has is enough to give Kandi the upper hand with his expiring. And the fact that Blount so obviously got showcased all year long makes me happy about this switch. The kicker that Blount has in his contract (10 or 15%, unsure) makes it even worse for the Wolves.
So how about Banks? The oh-so-talented point guard that was supposed to be The Next Big Thing in Beantown. He's shite at everything exept quick feet and pressure defence. I'm happy that he gets another chance, but in Minnesota. But don't make the mistake to count him as anything else than a very second-tier talent at this point.

Minnesota: B
Blounts contract is horrendous.
Boston: B+
At least Olowokandis contract is expiring. A probable buy-out.

Wally for Davis
I love Davis. I really do. But he can disrupt the offence at times and is without a doubt stoned out of his mind 24/7. wally is a good shooter than can stretch the defence for PerkaJeff and take the defences focus away from PP in a better way than Davis. But the Celtics adresses a need while at the same time loosing penetration. A returning Allen has alot of pressure on him now.

Minnesota: B
Boston: B

Reed for Jones
This is a bugger. I think that Reed could have been an excellent role-player on the C's. And Oh My God what a defender. Not alot of upside, but a good player in his particular role. Good pickup for the Wolves.
I know ...nothing about Jones exept the fact that he's a good rebounder and a former defender of the year as a junior. Maybe the fact that he played with West before can be a good thing for Boston.

Minnesota: B+
Boston: ?

I just hope that this works out. And that some idiotic GM thinks that Scabs is a good trade to make.

I'm not unbiased. At all. But when I rrreeaaallly try to be objective I think that it's a good trade for both sides. They both adresses needs, they both get a decent return for the pieces they traded away and both get a good influx of talent when they need it. Both teams aren't in the best form atm, and new players could help them out of the slump (or make it permanent, but what they hey...).

Though the contract that Wally brings isn't a fabulous thing to have. DA's main problem is his shit-for-brains way to interpret the CBA.
