Big trade. An offensive player for a defensive. Wanna see how the teams will get better/worse from this trade!

Sacramento is now in my opinion a playoff caliber team.

Isn't Peja the anti-Reggie Miller? His playoff numbers are all below his career averages, and i remember him being a non-factor in some important games as Bibby took over.

About time a deal got done.

It's one of those deals that sort of evens itself out. In terms of "star power" the trade isn't so bad since Peja himself is a former All-Star. The Pacers are giving up a far superior defender who is also a capable scorer, but since they haven't been playing Artest and have basically accepted a future without him they've already prepared for that loss. Peja could walk when his contract is up but the Pacers have rid themselves of the headaches Artest causes. Sacramento meanwhile is getting the better end of the deal talent-wise because of what Artest brings at both ends but are taking on the risk.

Sacramento got the better end of the deal talent-wise but Indiana hardly lost out completely. They'd already cut their losses with Artest and moved on long before the trade materialised.

Im gonna laugh my ass of if this is one big scheme between the Maloofs and peja... and peja walks out at the end of the season and resigns with Sac.

Also I read somewhere that Peja was saying he would take less money to stay with Kings for rest of career.

He didn't play because he was in Indiana I believe.

He wasn't even in the arena.

From what I read, he stayed behind at the hotel because of all the trade talks.

I seem to remember him offering to take a pay cut to stay... He wanted to chill in SAC for the rest of his career.

Would be pretty damn funny if the kings signed him in the off season tho.

u never know.
Peja best years was with a good PF in Chris Webber

Well now he has JO fulfilling that roll. It may work out believe it or not
and "new beginning" seems to energize some players ( look at VC for example)

JO isn't the passer C-Webb is and doesnt have the same type of post game, not to mention Indianas overall offensive incompetence.

Matt, Webber was an excellent passer from the top of the key But remember, in sacramento, the Kings didnt have a poing guard who could distribute as well as Tinsley. Second of all, the kings will operate inside out. Go into O'neal, back out to Jackson/Peja for a jumpshot. Peja will help, but he wont change this team. They'll be lucky to make the playoffs.

If Peja's smart, I think he should sign with the Suns in the off-season.

That kinda of wide open game could benefit him a lot. He could play 10x better than Q ever did.

Of course, The Suns'd have to want him and have the money to offer him a contract.

I'm still waiting for what Indy's reaction is to the trade. :P

Artest has a better overall game than Peja, but his off court problems are what troubles me the most about him. Hopefully he won't do anything crazy in Sacramento (although he probably will).

I don't think he's coming out of retirement for this one.
