Wow... you're a bit late. We've already established in this thread that we rejected the Maggette deal.

Didn't you just mention the Clippers were sweetening the deal? How do you find the time to post, between sitting in the Pacers head offices surrounded by executives listening to their trade discussions.

Eh, well I'm only there monday-thursday, so I have no problem spending time on internet forums with you "normal people" friday-sunday.

Riot, I don't know what you're talking about. The rumor that's flying around now involves either Bynum or Odom, and possibly Francis.

But I've learned not to believe anything I read anymore.

I am telling you the rumors that I hear in Minnesota. It looks like Minnesota will be involved in a 3 way trade with Artest, but we won't be the team getting Artest. Atleast, that's what I have been hearing.

Cue music from Nickelback's 'How you remind me' here:

"Never made it as a Pacer
You couldn’t cut as J.O.’s teammate
Tired of living like a blind fan
I’m sick of you without a sense of winning
And this is how you remind me
This is how you remind me
Of what we could have been
This is how you remind me
Of what we could have been

It’s not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on another mishap
This time I’m mistaken
For cheering for a guy worth booing
And I’ve been wrong, I’ve been down
I even traded you in NBA Live
These five words in my head
Scream “are you out of Indy?”

Go, go, go, Ron-Ron
Leave, leave, leave, Ron-Ron

It’s not like you didn’t know that
We stood beside you when you went in the stands
And you have been so bad
Cause playing for Rick must have damn near killed you

And this is how you remind me
Of what we could have been
This is how you remind me
Of what we could have been

It’s not like you to say sorry
I was waiting on another outburst
This time I’m mistaken
For buying a number 91 jersey
And I’ve been wrong, I’ve been down
I even bought your bobble head doll
These five words in my head
Scream “are you out of Indy?”

Go, go, go, Ron-Ron
Go, go, go, Ron-Ron
Go, go, go, Ron-Ron
Go, go, go, Ron-Ron

Never made it as a Pacer
You couldn’t bring Reggie a title
And this is how you remind me
This is how you remind me
This is how you remind me
Of what we could have been
This is how you remind me
Of what we could have been

It’s not like you to say sorry
I was waiting for another brawl
This time I’m mistaken
For punching that fan from Detroit
And I’ve been wrong, I’ve been down
I even egged Dave Stern’s house
These fives words in my head
Scream “are you out of Indy?”
Go, go
Are you out of Indy?
Go, go
Are you out of Indy?
Go, go
Are you out of Indy?
Go, go
"

the radio told me today as i was driving home from classes that Artest might be going to sacramento for peja stojakovich. Personally I think he should go to the Lakers as his presence there would immediately vault the Lakers to at least a 4th seed and they might actually get out of the first round. It wouldn't be a one man show anymore.

I don't think that's a good trade for both sides. (The Los Angeles one, that is.)

I couldn't be bothered with the Sacramento trade.

Artest doesn't want to be in Indiana due to the fact he doesn't get to dominate the ball. Kobe already dominates the ball in LA. How would that work out for LA?

Besides, Artest is a nut.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 3:16 am

If the Stojakovic trade goes through, Indy will be one pissed off MF .

Wed Jan 25, 2006 3:52 am

Yeah the Peja trade is all over realGM.

That's a surprising trade imho...Indiana gets a 1 dimensional scorer who's gonna want a max contract soon?

Still, i guess he's better than Artest sitting at home collecting paychecks working on his clothing line.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:03 am

Does his contract expire soon? 2007 is going to have a good free agent market.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:07 am

Artest is signed for 2 more years through 07/08, with 08/09 being his option.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:10 am

The league could and probably will pull a Spree on him and he'll have to sign with the Knicks for MLE. I mean, who exactly would be mad enough to give him a long term contract?

Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:12 am

I meant Peja, given Indy seems to be getting the raw end of the deal, if his contract ends soon, that could be a reason as to why they are willing to trade for him.

Yeps, Hoopshype says his contract is off the books in 2007.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 5:17 am

Makes both teams better in the short term. Artest will give Kings a boost, and Pacers basically add a player.

Wed Jan 25, 2006 7:01 am

Actually, these one might be useful for the Pacers, and Peja. He was stucked with Bibby at the Kings, and now he'll have true passing PG. If he stays healthy, he could have good numbers over there.

Peja stuck behind Bibby? Bibby is one of the most underrated players in the NBA, he is a great PG, but just horrible on defence (which player from the Sac-Town however plays any defence?) Damn man i just hope that your true passing pg is not Jamal ''I'm not healty' 'Tinsley

Wed Jan 25, 2006 7:52 am

wow its official.... peja going to indy for artest... wow

Thu Jan 26, 2006 5:24 am

It's official now?

Thu Jan 26, 2006 5:33 am

yes sir it is...i just hear on jim rome show that espn is reporting trade is final. I don't know why he refused to in the first place...maybe he was forced by larry bird to "gtfo" of indiana

Thu Jan 26, 2006 5:45 am

Interesting, considering the initial agreement for the trade falls apart. I like the trade. While Indy loses some individual lockdown defense, they get a lot of offensive firepower and still remain a fairly good defensive team(wise).

Thu Jan 26, 2006 5:58 am

Why did Indy had to go!?!?!?? OMFG, we can only imagine his reaction (N)

Thu Jan 26, 2006 6:03 am

Methinks he'll find an internet cafe just to post his thoughts :D

Thu Jan 26, 2006 6:06 am

We'll have to get ready then.

Thu Jan 26, 2006 10:31 am

Peja for Artest is a horrible trade for Indiana. They could've at least tried to get some picks or something out of Sacramento.

Thu Jan 26, 2006 10:53 am

Is it only Peja for Artest? any picks or fillers?
