Kobe "Hater" thread

Postby Dirtdog1- David on Wed Jan 25, 2006 12:12 am

Although i don't hate Kobe as much as the next person; I am not too fond of him either.
It seems whenever a Kobe/Laker thread is started of some sort, whether truly interesting or someone just showing there love......it is usually met with Kobe hater's attacking good everyday garden variety Kobe lovers. This has to stop I tell you
So this morning I got this idea "why don't I start a Kobe "hater" thread" and there everyone could vent there hate towards Kobe. The forum would be much cleaner. Moderators what do you think?
This is all in good fun.

I will start............Kobe spells team.............TIEM; was that funny?
How about this one

Lovely idea. All the "why person X and person Y is better than Kobe" threads flooding the forum are really pissing me off. Keep it in one thread. Why don't I see a large number of "KOBE IZ DA BEST!!!!1!!1 !1!1" threads?

I would have not believed that every one hates him so bad that has to start a new thread about it. I like some players and and hate some other players for my own reasons and I don't have a need to force these opinions on others by starting pointless flamewars. None of these threads has ever changed someone's mind or beliefs.

Haters remain haters, lovers remain lovers and bandwaggoners are everywhere.

Kobe is a guy who was beginning to earn my respect, but I don't like him anymore because he dropped 80 on the Raptors. :x

You mean Lamar 'Clutch' Odom, Devean 'Contract year' George, Smush 'CBA' Parker, and Chris 'The Big White Stiff' Mihm?

Yeah, Parker, Mihm & George are solid role players. You said it. They are in the same league as the Dwyane Wade's, Robert Horry's, Michael Finley's (!!), Shawn Marions etc.

Look at the other leading teams, the teams have A LOT more talent than the Lakers do. Smush is having a good year, alright I'll give you that. Is he consistant? No. George? If you say he's a good role player, you're on crack. He can drop 20 one night & then go back to like 3 points the next. Chris Mihm? Just repeat what I said. I'm amazed you didn't add Kwame Brown to the list of oh so fabulous players the Lakers have.

Lamar Odom is a good player, no doubt about it, sadly his game just doesn't seem to be going as smoothly as it should in LA. He needs the ball in his hands. Kobe needs the ball in his hands & frankly, I'd rather have Kobe handle the ball opposed to Odom. That's not a knock on Odom, it's a compliment to Bryant.

Really, Kobe doesn't have much to work with, perhaps that is his fault, I can't say for sure, perhaps it's his game that doesn't bring out the best in others. But till that's a proven fact, we can't blame him entirely.

He's doing his best, even if that means him trying to score as much as possible. Before I'd get mad because he had other options, now that he doesn't, how do I get mad at him? Do I have a right to get mad at him? Not really.

He's trying to win & then you see him as a ballhog. Before I did it too, when he had options. You've got to realise he doesn't have those options anymore, so calling him a ballhog now is just plain ignorant. In this case, Iverson is a ballhog aswell.

I used to like Kobe Bryant but not the Lakers franchise until the Colorado ordeal. I don't like kobe as much after that...it's more that I hate the Lakers in general for basically owning the West in the Shaq - Kobe days.

Even if I dislike Kobe and constantly mock the Laker's poor decisions (one questions the trade for Kwame Brown and the signing of rookie Andrew Bynum) I still have to give Kobe props when he goes mad and scores over 60 points...he's truely the MVP of this season whether you hate him or not.

Sign me up!

There's so many reasons, who can pick just one?

I guess the #1 reason is that he broke up a dynasty that could have easily won a few more championships so he didn't have to share the limelight w/ another great player. He's pretty much the poster child for all self-indulged sports superstars.

Kobe has the skills to be the best ever, but his arrogant, selfish attitude makes me and many others hate him. I got MAAAAD respect for the 81 points, it just wasn't human, but I'm not going to like him because of that.
I seriously believe Kobe is only out there looking for personal success..

This is working! Vent people vent. Now you can say whatever you want about Kobe and not have to have a flame war over it.

2 assist and 81 points, does that sound right to you?
His team scored a total of three points in the 4th quarter the other night.........The shot clock must have been expiring and someone threw it up

Here is what I have to say about the Wilt 100 point game and his 81 point game.
1) Wilt did not have the benefit of 7 extra points off of the 3 point shot. (Not that he would have taken any)

2) Wilt had to get the ball from his teammates; Kobe just brings the ball up court; like Smush is not the point guard.

3) ESPN- Showed all 81 points of his the other day, and that had to be some of the worst defense from Toronto that i have ever seen. (I think he hit one shot while double teamed?) Most of the time Kobe just waltzed threw the lane for two. (Although he did hit some pretty difficult jumpers)

4) Kobe has to be the biggest ball hog in the history of the game?

-
Phil Jackson now has to believe that Kobe is even more “Un-coachable" than before. He does whatever he wants now, it’s like Phil can’t say anything. How are the other Lakers going to learn the new triangle system so the team will get better, if Kobe is just gunning and no passing? If you watch a game, the other four Lakers are usually just standing around watching him.
