Kobe's 81 is better than Chamberlains 100. Back then the Defense was ATTROCIOUS to say the least.

One more thing, the game Chamberlain did it in was a blowout was it not? And his teammates just kept feeding him, despite Wilt not really wanting it, to get him the big score. Kobe had to keep scoring until there wasn't much time left. He was bringing his team back as opposed to padding stats and keeping a lead.

Of course if I'm wrong about that then ignore me.

im not sure if it was a blowout but if it was then this makes Kobe's game even more valuable. His team was behind in the scoreboard, and kobe being kobe began scoring like crazymaniac and doing so while your team is behind is much much harder than if your team was ahead...kobe is mr.clutch! how many winning shots does he have? last thing i heard was 21 right behind jordan's 28.

Both are excellent games and both Wilt and Kobe's performance deserve their place in NBA history.

Kobe's game was probably the best most NBA followers ever saw because barely anybody besides fans in the arena got to see Wilt put up 100. Some may argue that he couldnt do it against todays D but who knows what would have happened if he grew up in our time.

Well, there acutally no game footage of Wilt's 100 ppint game so... we won't know for sure how he actuallyt dominated that game. We can't compare their playing styles...

But for Kobe to do it in this modern era of basketball as a SG... it's very very... amazing! (Y) Props to him!

reading the first page of this thread is like watching ten guys suck each others tiny cocks and orgasm simultaneously. oh my god, ooooh my god, 71, oooooh, 80, fuck me kobe, fuck me.

anyway, good job and respect to bryant, even though i dislike him in every respect i really don't mind, considering he's no longer a viable threat in the playoffs. (sorry had to get that one in, im bitter, but honestly, good job and congratulation to kobe and laker fans.)

Look at highlites or NbaTV.I think it was on there

I don't get NBA TV.

 That may be, but the Raptors aren't exactly a defensive juggernaut.

I'd like to see Kobe get 81 vs. a prime defender like Ron Artest or against a great defensive team like the Pistons or Spurs.

an unbelievable performances....no matter what angle you look at it, no matter whether you like Kobe or not, you have to respect and applaud his effort and performance on this night....Kobe has been phenomenal this season, especially the last month or so....this is just what the NBA needs, some unbelievable basketball moments that we haven't really had since MJ hit "The Shot" against the Jazz....and for that reason, I applaud Kobe :applaud:

Incredible performance. What else can you say? I still think Kobe's got more accomplishments to make before he's in the same class as the absolute best of the best in NBA history but no question he's made a mark today and take nothing away from this game and Kobe's performance.

Unfuckingbelievable. Kickass performance by Bryant and most importantly, they won (so what if it was the Raptors, they WON!).

Hats off to Bryant, he's doing everything he can to try & carry this team, hats off to the kid.

Do you think Wilt would even take an advantage of having a three point line? His range was like 12, 13 feet.

 yeah I'm sure Wilt would've consistantly stepped out and hit the 3.

BTW, this was Kobe's 666th game and he had 66 shots at the basket. Symbolism at its best.

Kobe made 4 shots more than the rest of all his teammates.... is that a great player?? That what we call in Spain "un chupon". He always wants the ball for him, and only for him.
Kobe is very very good. That's for sure, but he'll never make better his teammates, like Jordan or Magic made...

well correct me if im wrong but when wilt got his record he had 12 more free throws and took about 15 more shots and kobe played 6 less minutes.

enough said, this is the best thing in a long time regarding individual accomplishments.

46 shots plus 20 free throws makes it 66. Plus, he was out of the game for 6 minutes, had 6 rebounds and his combine of steals, block and assists make - guess what - 6.

Spectaculamazefuckingtasic. *!
Henceforth, no more Kobe bashing for me.
His performance was just..wow.

The only negative thing that could come out of Kobe's 81 performance are the bandwagoners and dickheads who would write incoherent phrases like "Ma mein man Kobe is da BEST Y'all!!!111 Bettah recogniz the talent bitches111"
