Timberwolves Drop First Game Of The Season

[12/22/06] The Timberwolves played their home opener against the Portland Blazers. The Timberwolves lost the game 109-102 in a game that went up and down. Timberwolves took the lead early in the game but the Blazers responded with Zach Randolph who scored 30 points in the game. The Timberwolves attempted to make a comeback late in the 4th quarter cutting a 16 point lead to just four but failed to finish the game. Dixon also had a huge game with 33 points hitting 5-10 from downtown. Kevin Garnett was on fire on the floor scoring 34 points. The Timberwolves look to play the Sonics at Seattle on Friday.

Minnesota Drops Second Loss Of The Season

[12/22/06] The Timberwolves who lost their last game against the Portland Blazers could not come back with a win against the Seattle Sonics. Despite Kevin Garnett going scoring 43 points, he did not get much support from his teamates. Marco Jaric had a bad outing with only 11 points and a shocking 5-21 from the field.

The Timberwolves like the previous game held the lead going into the fourth but the Timberwolves had a collapse on defense especiallly in the last five minutes of the game. Rashard Lewis was able to collect 25 points. The Sonics really got a lot of help from their bench that combined to score 40 points. "Radmanovic was a huge factor in the fourth quarter hitting back to back threes with two minutes remaining which really turned us down and hurt us," said Kevin Garnett.

The Timberwolves look to rebound and get back to the winning column tommorow against the Los Angeles Clippers.
