Pistons "sweep" Spurs...

Fri Jan 13, 2006 4:21 pm

and have come to a point of no return. After this win, anything less than a championship would be highly disappointing.

Pistons have played shitty lately, but in this game their rebounding was excellent! Still, lack of a bench has me concerned.

The Spurs will probably make some sort of improvement by the end of the season and be able to hang with the Pistons in a possible finals series. I would also like to see how the Suns fare against the Pistons with Amare back. I think the Suns are even better this year than last year.

detroit looks good, but i still think they need larry brown to win a championship

Larry Brown held them back offensively...just look @ Sheed & Billups....they are shooting that 3 ball w/o a conscience simply because there's no one on the sideline to frown at them.

Take at look @ Memo Okur in Utah, whenever he took a 3 for the Pistons Brown would get pissed off. Memo just about as good as he is in Utah right now, but Brown never let him play to his strengths.

I agree, Larry Brown really helped Detroit when he came there, put everybody on the same track and created a good team-spirit. But I think it was better for both him and the Pistons to leave, the magic was kind of running out.

 Now that's pressure for you...

I still trust the Spurs more, come crunch-time in June... (Y)

So do I... I think Poppovich will have his team ready for the playoffs.. and I think he is the superior coach by far.

Not really, I favor the Spurs, but I'm not a fan. I wouldn't be all so downtrotten if the Pistons win in the end.

The Spurs don't seem to be able to beat the Pistons so they better hope the Heat can.

Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:16 pm

I dont see the Heat beating the Pistons this year.

Fri Jan 13, 2006 11:18 pm

wheres your faith in milwaukee now?

after seeing the scores for this game, and watching the other one, its hard to comprehend just how san anonio is goingto have any chance against us in the playoffs.

indeed, but the players decide the series, and Detroit's 5 is as experienced as it gets.

Question is, how will Poppovich adjust to Pistons shutting down TP, Finley laying eggs and Bowen's inability to battle through all those screens (which werent there in the finals)

Sat Jan 14, 2006 8:38 am

Popovich will probably put Ginobili on RIP since he did a better job on him last year in the finals

Sat Jan 14, 2006 8:43 am

If any one person of the Pistons starting 5 is injured, they won't win the championship. Their bench is crap and they pretty much live or die off the starters' contributions. I just don't think they will be able to avoid the injuries all year... usually the deeper teams win.

I still say don't count out the Suns, they have a good chance this year.

Damn, Manu was PISSSSSSSSSSEDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!

Sat Jan 14, 2006 9:32 am
