Deepest Team?

Postby Laxation on Sat Jan 14, 2006 2:04 am

What do you think is the deepest team right now?
not the best team (ahemdetroit) but the deepest

shallowest has to be philly, their bench is just the square root of shit.
deepest, would be close between miami, chicago and suns
i think suns are probly a bit deeper than the other 2 though

I should say San Antonio. Horry, Barry, Nick, Finley, Nazeeeee, Nesterovic, Ginobili sometimes, Oberto (but still hasn't adjusted much in the NBA).

Detroit, Miami, Milwaukee recieve runners-up honors.

detroit? what are you smoking...
we have mcdyess, evans and hunter/arroyo. delfino plays less than 10min a game and gets about 2 points, 1 ast and 1 to.

thats hardly a bench.

San Antonio. And they're still working it out in the chemistry department themselves.

Dallas: Stack, D-Harris, KVH(whne he wakes up or is able to walk), Diop(surprisingly good this season, etc...

but LOL @ Oberto

He's certainly giving Darko some competition for less skilled 12th man.

I don't think so. Jermaine Jackson is in the rotation

I'd have to say the Spurs and Dallas. Devin Harris better go to a team that needs a PG :headbang:

San Antonio for sure. I also have to agree with Cyanide. Miami has an all-star off the bench and a bunch of other fantastic role players, but they can't seem to get it done.

Miami has the best bench..

Payton, Antoine Walker, Zo, and Kapono (good shooting).

It goes downhill from there, but then again i dont think i've seen other players (Simien, Shandon Anderson, Doleac....) on the floor more than every other game, or a blow out.

i wouldn't say Chicago is one of the deepest teams. SKiles is just more willing then most coaches to go deeper with his rotations

San Antonio, no doubt about it.

C: Nazr Mohammed
PF: Robert Horry
SF: Brent Barry
SG: Michael Finley
PG: Nick Van Exel

That's a starting five right there.

The Spurs for reasons listed above!

I don't want to start another thread but this thread gave me a quick thought...

Which is the team with the most chemistry regardless of skill/talent?

In that case, New York should be added to the 'deepest teams' list.

Memphis, Dallas, San Antonio, I can't say Detroit because they really can't go 10 men deep on the bench in which players that can be consistent.

It's funny how the two deepest teams, SAS & Miami are having more problems this year than last.

I'm suspecting the deep roster is causing real problems for both teams. For instance, Nazr's minutes are less than halved from last year to make playing time for Finley & Van Axel.

For example, you can see here
http://www.82games.com/0506/0506SAS2.HTM

SAS's best rotation by far is the same old rotation they've had for years: Parker - Manu - Bowen - Duncan - Rasho...but now it's NOT the main rotation. The most used rotation has Finley in it, and it performs very poorly, it's the worst common rotation they have except for the one with both Van Axel & Finley in it.

EDIT: I'm surprised nobody mentioned Indiana as one of the NBA's deeper teams.

Finley will be coming off the bench much more I suspect.

I never even thought of Indiana... the Pacers are still managing to play well with so many pieces gone.. they probably are the deepest team... or the Clippers... everyone overlooked them (myself included)

you can give all the shit to Darko you want, but his skills surpass Oberto's by far.

Miami has the best bench..

the bench has no chemistry. apart from Zo, nobody else i'd want on my team (ok, maybe Simien)
