He's creeping up there, isn't he?
Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:10 am
He still has lots of competition
Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:13 am
I don't think so.
Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:38 am
Have any reasons as to why not?
I'm not saying he should be MVP, but considering him a candidate isn't much of a stretch to me.
Wed Jan 11, 2006 8:43 am
Hes a candidate yes, but thats all there is to it.
Wed Jan 11, 2006 9:01 am
Candidate, yes, Kidd hasn't been playing bad himself either.

How high would the Nets have to finish for him to at least be first-team all league? Top 5?
Wed Jan 11, 2006 10:01 am
top 3 maybe 1st and still then probally not.

Probably, since he's a guard, or possibly a F, at guard he's going against: Kobe, Iverson, Wade, Nash at F: Duncan, Lebron, KG, Dirk, so he can get second team.

He MIGHT get second team.

Chauncey Billups, Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Elton Brand.
Is that enough?

No player on the same team as Jason Kidd should be considered for MVP before Jason himself.

And he can't be a candidate along with them?
Wed Jan 11, 2006 12:35 pm
Not unless he starts playing better.

Have you been watching games?
His scoring has been the reason the Nets have been winning all these games. Which is the reason I think if the Nets end up as the #2 seed in =the East, he should be a serious contender.

Have you seen Kobe scoring like nuts lately? Vinsanty may be scoring alot but it is nothing compared to Kobe.

Kobe's scoring is great, but just cause Kobe is having a great offensive season doesn't mean there can be other candidates for MVP.

Bryant > Carter. I could put together an argument, but I'll save my time, unless somebody vehemently disagrees
Wed Jan 11, 2006 12:52 pm
Same thing with Vinsanity he may be great but not good enough. Was Elgin Balor one of the best players ever?Yes but he didn't win a MVP. Being a great player doesn't mean you will win a MVP.

People keep saying that and I'm not arguing Carter over Bryant at all. I'm just why can't they BOTH be in the MVP talks?
Wed Jan 11, 2006 12:56 pm
I think we're trying to narrow it down to the most likely candidates.
Wed Jan 11, 2006 12:57 pm
The thing is that because they play the same position and Bryant is easily better no one cares about Vinsanity in the MVP talk.
Wed Jan 11, 2006 1:01 pm
What about Nash? Leading the Suns to the #2 seed.
Wed Jan 11, 2006 1:05 pm
He's mentioned a lot in the First Team thread, so he's definitely a candidate in the point guard position, challenged by Billups.
