Deron Williams Recaps The Month

To the fans:

We had a really good record this month, going 14-2 and losing to only the Lakers and the Sixers, which are really tough teams. The record however doesn't show how close and tough this month were. Out of our 16 games, 9 of those games were decided by 3 points or less, luckily though we were able to win the majority of those close games, losing only the Lakers one and the Sixers one only by 6 points.

We faced some teams we have not played before so far this season, most notably the Heat and the Spurs, and we beat the Heat by 3 and Spurs by 2, man... what a month this has been. Currently we are at 39-7 and are the only team in the NBA with under 10 losses, and I am happy with that, extremely happy. We just got Charlie back before the Spurs game, and thats good because now we are a complete team. As for the trade rumours... I can't really say too much about it, all the rumours about Gordon [Giricek] being traded... I hope he doesn't because he's been a superb teammate, and hopefull the organization can look through his struggles lately to earlier in the season where he was leading the team in scoring and shooting.

We got the Nuggets on the first of Feburary and we barely beat them by 2 the last time we met in Denver, and they will be looking to even it out. We have to stop Marcus Camby and Carmelo from getting inside, those guys can dominate and are having great seasons so far.

To tell you the truth, I never thought we would be able to be on top of the league. Everyone had doubts about us, and we were placed on the bottom of the division, and near the bottom of the league, guess we are really showing them.

This rookie year has been... well amazing is what I can say. Its been great starting and playing for the best team in the NBA. All those talks about me, Charlie and Andrew competing for the Rookie of the Year Award, sure there is competition, but as long as one of us win, I will be happy.

Well this is my midseason recap. We've had lots of moves so far, but they are coming togather finally and the organization seems to be finally happy with what we got. We are gluing together as a team and things can only look brighter for the new season.

The following is a little recap of this most recent month.

Ok, thanks for Kuttan for doing the templates for the MVP, i was doing this box thing and he came up with such a better idea. Also the signature thing, I think it was originally CK's or something, and i thought it was a great idea, sorry if this is copying your idea, but if you don't like it I won't do it anymore. What else do I have to say... oh yeah, thanks to Fasz for teaching me how to create gifs and all that, go visit his dynasty.
enjoy everyone

thanks. i agree that gifs take away from the quality of the image... but in your dynasty they seemed to be pretty sharp, whats the deal?

[Jazz Boxscore] [Nuggets Boxscore]

[SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 1] – The last time these teams met, Carmelo Anthony missed a last second 3 and the Nuggets lost 93-91. Last night the Nuggets evened the season series at 1-1 when they won 107 - 96, led by center Marcus Camby's double-double night with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

The Nuggets won the first quarter by 4 points, and owned the 2nd quarter by 9 points 33-24, and led at the half 59-45. The Jazz tried to surge back by winning the 3rd 21-19, but at the end the combo of Anthony with 22 points and the backcourt of Voshon Lenard and Andre Miller, whom had 20 each, was just too much and the Jazz fell to 39-8.

The Jazz's leader was again foward Andrei Kirilenko, who led the game with 36 points. Power foward Udonis Haslem had the only double-double for the Jazz with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Camby was named the player of the game.

Udonis Haslem: 1
Andrei Kirilenko: 1 2 3

[Jazz Boxscore] [Kings Boxscore]

ImageImage

[SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 3] – The Kings came to Utah for the first game of a home and home series with the Jazz; in 2 days they will play the Jazz again in Sacramento.

Whatever the Kings had in mind coming into this game, they must have left on the plane because the game was over right from the tip-off. The Jazz never trailed during the game and did not even need to use their starters as much, allowing bench players like Darko Milicic and Jarron Collins to put up career highs in points.

Speaking of career highs, Milicic, who was glued to the bench at Detroit, scored a career high 20 points in an astounding 10-12 shooting, as well as grabbing 6 boards, dishing out an assist, and blocking a shot. “It was amazing… almost everything I took was going in. This is great and I hope to have more nights like this,” Milicic told the press after the game. “This was a breakout game for Darko and it shows why he was the 2nd pick in the draft, because he has so much potential and skill, and he showed it tonight,” Coach Jerry Sloan told the press.

Utah scored at least 30 points each quarter, capping off the game with a 37 point 4th quarter, though they did allow the Kings 35. Another backup who had a career game was center Collins, who had 16 points on 8-10 shooting, as well as grabbing 5 rebounds, 4 of them offensive.

For the Kings their only bright spot was center Brad Miller, who had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, 7 of them offensive; also guard Bonzi Wells put in 19 points.

This game was the first game in which the Jazz outrebounded their opponents, the Jazz grabbed 40 boards, 12 of them offensive, and held the Kings to 32, but 17 offensives as well. The Kings also were hugely out-assisted, losing the battle 18-29. “The lack off assists probably cost us a lot of production, I think this game would have been a lot closer if we passed the ball better.” Point guard Mike Bibby said as he draped a towel over his head.

Center Andrew Bogut of the Jazz was injured with 2:20 left in the 2nd quarter, and though he was able to come back into the game, Bogut was traded and held out for most of the 3rd quarter and will be held out for the rematch with Kings on Sunday, but will be back for the Bulls the next day.

On the bright note however, team doctors have announced that rookie forward Charlie Villanueva is 100% healed from his broken finger and will be fully integrated back into the lineup.
