u gotta give it up for james tho this guy is just sick i wonder how pissed rockets are that they traded james

but if james was still with the rockets he wouldn't score 20 or more because it is all about t-mac and yao with the rockets but in toronto it is about the whole team

damn that was one hell of a shot by Vince. As much as I hate Vince cuz he bailed out on the city, you do have give him his props. He hit one hell of a shot. And what the hell was wrong with Steve Javie. The guy has the shortest fuse I've ever seen. The guy gave 5 technicals. 5!!!! 4 of them was against T.O.!! That Mo Pete ejection was just totally bullshit. That was unreal. Vince and Mo just give each other a friendly exchange...they just slapped each other. Vince slapped him, and when Vince got slapped, he looked away laughing. And MO GETS TOSSED??? They're ex-teammates for gods sake. They're real good friends. That was total bullshit

How is that his fault? It's the officials.

And he's on the opposing team, guys. Of course he and Frank are going to do whatever it takes to win. Frank was smart for telling VC to shsuh about Mo Pete, if indeed that was what happened..

I missed the ending with VC hitting the 3 for the win because I was busy watching the end of the Knicks vs. Sonics game. It looked like the Raptors were going to win too. They were up by like 5-6 when I was watching during a commercial break and there was only like a minute left. And when I turned back after the Knicks game, Carter had already hit the shot.

wisdom_kid wrote:As for Carter he had a sick game, hope he wins MVP!!!

I hope he does too, since no Knick is goin got have a shot at it. Unless we really do go on a very good winning streak.

it's cool that you dislike carter, but wishing injury upon someone? that's low.

That's very low. Especially for a player that did so much for your city.

hipn wrote:I was pissed... still am.. I mean fuc* we were winning... and he was pissing Mo Pete off I think kind of, then got him ejected. I mean... damn...

It's not like you didn't have the lead at all after that.

Raptors fans should really be happy. Not about this game, but they played great and almost beat the hottest team in the NBA right now.

Mon Jan 09, 2006 8:46 am

coming into that game, both the nets and the raptors were probably the hottest teams at the moment, and it showed throughout the game, like how many times was the game tied and how many times did the lead change? both teams deserved to win, but new jersey just made those shots in the end to cut it down to one, and then calderon missed his second freethrow, giving the chance to jersey to win it. John WB is right, there were NUMEROUS terrible calls. wtf is the ref thinkin, carter is LAUGHING and SMILING after peterson hit him, why the fuck would ANYONE be laughing and smiling after getting hit if they werent joking around? that one call cost us the game. The 2nd half would have been just as tight, but with mo-pete on carter, he would not have burned us 24 points in that fourth quarter, and probably would not have sank that last second 3 against us.

we were lucky the nets missed most of their technical foul freethrows. the foul carter had on calderon that didnt get called worked against us, first it seemed as if it was a good thing because it killed more time, but instead it screwed us over because it gave us no time to even have any sort of play.

oh well, good job nets on beating us. lets hope we dont let this one game fuck up the next few games and continue our hot streak.

Mon Jan 09, 2006 9:37 am

VC could have gone off on anyone. I've seen him go off on Bruce Bowen. So I don't think it's definate like some people seem to think that Mo Pete would have stopped him in that 4th quarter.

Mon Jan 09, 2006 11:44 am

lol, no use sensoring ur words now....

Mon Jan 09, 2006 1:51 pm

LMAO, I saw the slap now...

Mon Jan 09, 2006 2:13 pm

That little bitch. That was a cheap full across the face slap by Vince Carter on Mo Pete. What an asshole. :x

No it wasn't, they both just gave each other 'friendly', little slaps on their faces, obviously joking around. The ref decided TO's hate for VC wasn't big enough yet and tossed Mo-Pete for slapping VC.

Or... he had his whistle in his ass and farted?

Mon Jan 09, 2006 9:12 pm

it didnt look too friendly too Mo Pete.

Refs screwed this one up big time.

Mon Jan 09, 2006 10:43 pm

Did he already have a tech or did the official just throw him out with one?

 Did you see the replay in slow motion? That was one hell of a slap, and Mo Pete sure didn't look too happy when he slapped back. If anybody could make a .gif of it, it'd be good for laughs.

Edit: I know Vince was joking, but really, that was a stupid thing to do for a 'joke.'

Mo Pete didnt seem like he was joking, I mean his face expression. I mean he wasn't smiling, it was more like WTF? Why you slap me for? Ill slap you back, but then again he didn't seem like he wanted to start a fught, it was just getting back at VC, you know.. one for one.

I think Mo-Pete would have taken it as a joke if he had not been so pissed from the "no call" from the referee.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 7:42 am

But then again, Mo didn't really slap him, he kind of backhanded him and the way his arm movd was liek he was joking, it was like lazy.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 8:25 am

lol hey..get over the mo pete thing. Sure it was a bad call (I wrote that in my previous post), but it's over, and Mo's prob over it too. He's concentrating on tonight against the Bulls, and that's what's important right now, not what happened yesterday.

Btw, Mike James got his first NBA Player of the Week honors

http://www.nba.com/raptors/news/PR_jame ... 60109.html

Great for Mike to get recognition, I mean, he has been terrific for the Raptors of late. He just brings it every game. Won't surprise me at all if he went off against the Bulls tonight.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 8:53 am

Everyone's talking about how the Raptors would have won if Morris Peterson had not gotten ejected.

And then you forget the fact that the Nets were without Richard Jefferson for the whole game.

If Peterson ddin't get ejected and Jefferson didn't get injured, it would have been an entirely different game. And for those of you who think Peterson would have stopped Carter, when a player of Carter's caliber wants to take over...he can, no matter who is on him (see Bruce Bowen).

But anyways. both Carter and Peterson said it was all in good fun after the game, so stop blaming everything on Carter...your just mad because he whooped your ass.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:55 pm

Your just saying that because your a Nets fan.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:56 pm

damn, another loss to the bulls, that makes it like what, 11 straight losses against them? they sure have our number. we had a great push in the third and fourth, getting within 2, but just like the previous chicago game earlier this season, we just couldnt finish off our comeback and started taking jumpshots and missing them, then chicago get back on a run and put this one in the bag. hope we refocus and win against the bobcats on wednesday.

Tue Jan 10, 2006 2:01 pm

e better win against Charlotte, I mean Okafur is out. And I really don't want teh Raptors to go on a losing streak..

OH YEAH AND SOME OF THE RAPTORS ARE TAKING LIKE 170KIDS FROM MY HS TO SEE "GLORY ROAD" IN THEATRES, AND IM SO PISSED BECAUSE I WAS IN LINE TO GET PERMISSION FORMS, BUT I DIDNT GET ONE, SO I AM ON THE WAITING LIST BECAUSE A TEACHER SAID LOTS OF STUDENTS THAT ARENT SHOWING P TO CLASS AND EVERYTHING ARENT GONNA GO, SO I STILL GOT A CHANCE... BTW ITS ON THURS!!!!!! 8-) :) :D

Thu Jan 12, 2006 12:26 pm

Woot, Toronto with a win against Charlotte. It looked like November all over again until the second half when Mike James and Chris Bosh yet again carried us down the stretch. Raymond Felton really made some bad decisions in crunch time, and the Bobcats just basically ran outta gas. The Raptors caught a break, but with our record right now I'd take these kinds of games over losses anyday.

Thu Jan 12, 2006 12:32 pm

i was worried after the first half, with only 36 points and a ten points down. the raptors were able to come back because of charlotte's depleted lineup, if it was their full lineup, we would have had a harder time coming back from that defficent. Good job raptors, hope you can take down the knicks, they've been on a winning streak lately.

Thu Jan 12, 2006 1:24 pm

Man, 1st half was terrible, but then near end of 3rd and fourth, the Raptors cought up and won. Im a happy fan.

Thu Jan 12, 2006 1:37 pm

yah that was a brutal first half for the Raptors. They just got outplayed and out main guys couldn't get going. We came through in crunch time and that's what's important, especially after two straight losses to the Nets and the Bulls. Hopefully we can come out with more energy and execute our offense better when we play the Knicks Sunday.

Fri Jan 13, 2006 8:49 am

Just came back from the theatre, and the I must say that GLORY ROAD is a VERY good movie, and plus... the soem of the Raptors gave everybody a present. It was a bag with a poster, 2 pens, a Glory Road practice jersey or a Read To Achieve shirt, an armband, a headband, a Glory Road seating cushion (for the ass), and a wristband. So sick, but the bad thing was I had to take a piss during the whole movie, so once I got home I basically pissed for like 5minutes, no jokes.

And I have to give Glory Road a 8.7/10 - Very good movie, and I recommend that you see it if you like basketball, its as good as Coach Carter, and Coach Carter is real sick.
