or are the Spurs still a little worn out from giving the LA series everything they had?
btw- on the play where van exel drew a foul on Rose for 3 Ft's, the replay clearly showed he stepped over the 3pt line when he shot the ball
spurs were hot from the start. but dallas was able to withstand it. coach nellie's hack-a-bowen strategy didn't work out for the mavs, but i was happy to see they at least tried one gimmick scheme.

I heard Dirk say after the game it didn't work out, but I disagree.
Down the stretch when they may have thought of him shooting the three, the ball never went to him, knowing he would just be fouled, also they started switching him out of the game on offense with Ferry and not with
Ginobili due to fouls. When Ferry shot the three he was unsucessful, as well as fouling and looking very old on defense. I believe the fouling of Bowen worked. He made 5 of 10 (they did this 5 times, twice he missed both free throws and twice he made both, once he split.) but Duncan never got involved and the lead was cut from 18 to 9. Maybe Charles Barkley thinks 9 is not better than 18, but I believe Don Nelson would differ. Also I believe it got in Bowen's, Duncan's and the rest of the Spurs heads, especially Popovic and Bowen's.
