wat sort of 1 on 1?
fast break: AI
posting: Shaq
just normal 1 on 1 (playing man2man defence): *shudders* Kobe

1on1 as in half court, one player vs one player first one to reach a certain score wins or at least that's what I assume it is
I'm gonna say a tie between Kobe & T-mac followed closely by AI.

Hmm....i would rank T-Mac number 1...look at T-Mac's Jumper...it's rather tough to block..cuz he raises very up high than any player in the league..well i think if he goes 1 on 1 wif Kobe..Kobe can't do nothing about that..and Kobe comes after T-Mac

Jason Kapono. End of discussion.

Allen Iverson

Yeah, but who can he take on defence? Iverson/Kobe/Wade/James/etc. will just burn right by him.
Shaq has more of a chance to stop any of those guys then they do him.
they will steal the ball from shaq allday

Don't let McGrady's length be a factor, Bryant gets up pretty high for his jumpshot. He gets pretty damn high.
Wed Jan 04, 2006 12:56 am
kobe has an advantage because he only plays 1 on 5 basketball.
Wed Jan 04, 2006 12:59 am
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Kevin Garnett
3. Allen Iverson
4. Lebron James
5. Tracy McGrady
I think an interesting addition to the list could be a guy like Paul Pierce. A guy who can obviously shoot the basketball but he is also very strong, has a solid post up game and a pretty good defender. I'm not saying he is better than McGrady or James or anything but I think he would be top 8 or so.

T-Mac.
He can drive, has size, is an incredible athlete, very fast and strong, and he can shoot of course.
Then LeBron

You guys who put LeBron in front of Kobe just don't watch basketball.
1. Kobe
2. Iverson
3. Tmac?
Wed Jan 04, 2006 2:56 am
This is a weird one, but I'd go with Vince.
During the olympics in 2000, the guys said they used to play 1 v 1 and Vince would win, so I guess he's really good at that.
Anyways, it would be all the perimeter guys that need the ball in their hands are opposed to being catch and shoot players, so in addition to Vince, Iverson, Kobe, Tmac, Arenas, Wade. I don't think Lebron would be that great in one on one though, decent, but I think the other guys are a little better.

Actually I read an article in SLAM that said KG was the one winning all of those 1 on 1 contests lol.
Wed Jan 04, 2006 3:07 am
Pretty much agree with everyone.
KG if he was playing one on one with another big man or Tracy McGrady if its one on one against SF/SG.
LeBron, AI, Wade, Kobe and a whole bunch of others need recognition too.
Its pretty hard to accurately tell who's the best one on one player because so many players excel at isolating their man.
Wed Jan 04, 2006 5:24 am
I think it would matter how they played... If it was winner's ball after each score, for instance Shaq would be unstoppable - he would probably dunk every time, and wouldn't have to play defense because he never lost the ball once he first got hold of it. If it was loser's ball after each score, the guys you've already listed (Kobe, Iverson ++) would have been best.

T-Mac at 100% is a marvel to watch. I'd go with him, especially now that he's added defense to his repetoire.
Wed Jan 04, 2006 7:44 am
ofcourse kobe who else
Wed Jan 04, 2006 8:37 am
pat burke

Wed Jan 04, 2006 9:39 am
Rafer Alston, he used to be in and1
And we all know how great of an unstoppable all-star Alston has become. And1 streetball players are always bound for success!
Wed Jan 04, 2006 9:47 am

Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:02 am
^why should anybody mention them when theyre obviously alot worse than the players already mentioned?
Wed Jan 04, 2006 10:17 am
They are better than Ray Allen and alot better than Pat Burke and Rafer Alston.
