Look at how Marbury is down about 4 PPG and 2 APG this season under LB. Chauncey was this good before, he just wasn't allowed to show it.
i know, but this is how Steve Nash won MVP last season. Nash was the same guy as in Dallas, it's just that the system in Phx suited him perfectly.

Nash was also shooting 50% from the field last year... that probably had a lot to do with winning MVP.

Bobby Simmons otoh, was the 42nd draft pick, which really sold his case as MIP.
My early pick is Okur is over West. Okur is pretty impressive for a 38th draft pick.

Yeah that's my main point and why West *may* not get MIP...he was supposed to be a good player. He barely missed being a lottery pick.
Another contender, i doubt he'll get it but worth mentioning is Bonzi:
04-05 --- 10.4 ppg --- 3.3 rpg --- 1.2 apg --- 1.23 spg --- 44% FG
05-06 --- 15.1 ppg --- 7.6 rpg --- 3.2 apg --- 1.76 spg --- 48% FG
