....what should the Suns do with Boris Diaw?
Thu Dec 29, 2005 12:39 pm
Keep him on SF and put Raja Bell on the bench, or put Thomas on the bench and put Amare at C. Either way, he seems to be a lock at SF.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 12:56 pm
They shouldn't start Amare just yet. Let him come off the bench.

reguardless, he WILL be starting eventually
thats what the question means, what will happen to diaw when he IS back, back at full strength
Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:10 pm
No matter whether he starts or comes off the bench, continue giving him significant minutes.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:31 pm
PG-Steve Nash
SG-Raja Bell
SF-Boris Diaw
PF-Shawn Marion
C-Amare Stoudemire
If I am forgetting someone just give me a holler.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:50 pm
that seems pretty good, but they'll lack firepower off the bench. But then again they do have Barbosa and House.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 1:55 pm
i can't believe how well everything worked out for PHX; letting go off JJ only to get a decent player in return in diaw

They also have James Jones.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:30 pm
Dont they have Jimmy Jackson? He's not a bad bench guy either.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:39 pm
Yup, I forgot about him as well.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 3:23 pm
Amare doesn't like palying C and Marion doesn't like playing PF. That's why they got Kurt Thomas because those 2 disliked those positions.

Kurt Thomas. I believe once Amare is fully healthy, he'll be starting at the 4, with Marion moving back to his swing position, and Diaw coming off the bench as the 6th man getting serious minutes along with James Jones. Jimmy Jackson, Eddie House, etc. are all secondary players off the bench, in terms of minutes.
Thu Dec 29, 2005 5:40 pm
I like Diaw as a 6th man when Amare is back. Part of the reason Amare and Shawn worked at the C/PF last year was the shooting they had from the swingman positions. I don't know if you can have undersized players at those positions and have those two spotting up on the line. So...
PG - Nash
SG - Bell
SF - Marion
PF - Stoudemire
C - Thomas
Bench - PG/SG - Barbosa/House, SF/SG - Jimmy Jackson/James Jones, PF/SF - Boris Diaw, C - Brian Grant.

I can't wait for Amare to come back! he's gonna tear a new one the Nba hasn't seem yet.

How about Diaw as a SG? He can rebound, he can pass, and is starting to be aggressive on the scoring.

Yea... seems like Diaw can play every position.

Problem is that leaves the bench forwards very weak.

i think they have way to many sf and guards on their bench... they should trade two of them for a decent backup big man....

They've got a good back-up for pg, sg, and sf, then an extra point guard and an extra 6'7'' swingman. That's not really that many. And they won't get a decent big man by trading a package like Barbosa and Jimmy Jackson. There aren't very many teams you can give up a decent big man
and would want any two of their back-ups.

Who do you propose? I don't know of a team looking to give up size.

there's bender with the pacers, decent shooter, even from 3.
then try przybilla of the blazers.
on the other end, for backup - rebounding, defense, hustle-- try perkins of boston or diop from dallas.

Diaw can play PG, sometimes he is playing playmaker posision in suns

Bender's retiring.

PG-Steve Nash
SG-Raja Bell
SF-Shawn Marion
PF-Amare Stoudemire
C-Kurt Thomas
Bench
G/F Boris Diaw
G/F Jimmy Jackson
F James Jones
C Brian Grant
G Leandro Barbosa
G Eddie House
looks like a good starting line-up and bench to me
