Wade & LeBron boring?

... because 90% of the time the defender isn't even in the vicinity of the guy dunking. He could just hang out his arm or something and people flip out and say he got dunked on.

I remember watching Top 10 plays of the week and seeing some amazing plays (crazy layups and all) but the number one play was Lebron driving and doing a simple one handed dunk with everyone just standing there watching. I was amazed because he didnt do anything fancy nor did he even dunk on anybody so I dont understand how its even on the list. Its the same dunk he does all the time after he drives past some weak 2-guard or something.

Jae- i think you're getting a little complacent. maybe it's cause you just see the highlights rather then the actual dunk happening in the flow of the game?

I also liked watching VC play. He does so many new and exciting shots and dunks every game. He's probably my favorite to watch play.

Vince is great to watch when he is making those shots. He has a nice array of layups, dunks and double pumps etc. but hen he misses them he looks kinda crazy. I'm a big Kobe fan but Vince is alot more exciting to watch when he is ON. Kobe takes too many jump shots IMO and I would love to see him drive more like Wade or Lebron.

there's nothing deceiving about it. he takes what the defense gives to him on occasion and makes it. it's like that for a lot of great perimeter players- defenders more or less pick a poison and hope for the best.

"easiest superstar to stop". lol more Matt-isms. if anything, post players are the easiest players "to stop" at the end of games because it takes time for them to set up in the post and they need someone to feed them the ball. not to mention a lot of them are below average free throw shooters

That's a weak argument, it's just part of his game. It's not like he gets open looks because there's a guy like Shaq in the paint deserving more attention. He gets those open looks because he has such a complete game.

Same here, too bad you'll never see these kind of plays in the courtside countdown or daily top 10's. Instead you get these average dunks from Wade and Lebron at 1, 2, 3. And 4-10 most of the time are plays that anybody could do, like a simple behind the back pass or someone who trips over his warmup pants.

I do enjoy watching Lebron though, but not for the dunks. I just like how powerful and dominant he is.

i said "one of" in end game situations. This holds true so far this season, i can't remember Wade making a game winning jumper this season, having a few chances.

I think you have to watch a full Cavs/Heat game to see fo yourself. I mean, did u see him against Miami the other day, when Cavs were up big, and Miami came back and it was late 4th and Bron took over and started hitting these wicked 17 ft jumpers.

Common, what kind of excuse is that, the guy hit's the same type of three's other star players hit, defenders aren't just sagging off him hoping he shoots and doesn't drive, unless they'd be getting burnt. Also a lot of these star players can drive anyways, previously people thought sagging off Wade would make him shoot, but he just ignored it and penetrated anyways.

Except for the fact that he's clutch, was clutch last season and is clutch this season. How can a guy be the easiest guy to stop down the stretch and be a Top crunch time player 2 years in a row? Teams don't stop him down the stretch, even when they packed the lane. He can shoot you know, he hit's jumpshots, and even still gets to the basket down the stretch. For a Pistons fan who saw the guy reak havoc on your team last season in the playoffs even with the double teams etc, I don't know how you can seriously believe this.

Van Gundy was trying to get him to earlier in the year since he had great playmakers such as J-Will and Payotn playing with him, but Wade couldn't adjust to it. He's ruined the Heat half-court offense. All it is in late game situations is isolating Wade and having him drive to the basket. His decision-making isn't too great and his three-point shot is non-existent. He'll sometimes just throw any shot up in attempt to get fouled. It's becomes quite boring after awhile.

He hasn't ruined anything, the team is winning and last year were one of the most efficient halfcourt teams in the league

Perhaps, but the more "entertaining" someone plays (lots of funky shots) almost always causes a lower FG% which translates into team FG% which translates into crappy record.

AI is a career 42.9% shooter, and for most years the Sixers haven't been very competitive despite having a guy like AI on the team. Shooting at that rate, AI doesn't warrant a double team. If a team shot 42.9% they'd be 28th of 30 last season. I actually think AI has been a lot more conservative this year compared to his early years, and it's paying off in both FG% and Sixers wins.

LeBron is a similar story. He was the most fun to watch his rookie year. He also shot poorly (41%) and the Cavs sucked with their most talented roster. He's now shooting at an amazing 49.7% and the Cavs are winning big time.

LeBron has too much money invested for him to clown around nowadays. Hundreds of millions of dollars on his shoulders, i can see why he doesn't do behind the back half-court passes anymore.

Well in my mind adjusting shouldn't be necessary. I mean, why would the Heat sign Gary Payton and trade for Jason Williams when all they have these guys do in the fourth quarter is something that Bimbo Coles could do? What's the point? This is my frustration moreso with the Heat coaching, rather than Dwayne Wade. With upgrade should come change. I mean, how can you expect to see results of your upgrade if you keep the same set offense?

The biggest problem I have with Wade, and it's not all the time, is that he forces too much. When he's "feeling it", he's a joy to watch, because he's practically unstoppable. But when he's cold and his methods aren't working, he'll try to continue them and he'll constantly come up short. He's a great player but he has a lot to learn. During the Pistons game he went in the air twice and didn't know what to do. That's a fundamental rule in basketball.

Guys sag off more off LeBron than off Redd and Redd still shoots a superior 3pnt %. Same can be said for other players.

i said LAST FEW SECONDS OF THE GAME. I'm not denying his ability to score in crunch time, just questioning it on the last play of the game with the ball in his hands.

I think the reason why people find Bron and Wade boring is their lack of creativity.
It's also a matter of creativity that people love seeing the likes of Carter, Kobe, J Rich, J Will, Nash and Luke Ridnour play.

Stats can be misleading at times, Duncan puts up leagendary stats but is boring as hell...at least for most of the time
